“Not impressed”
The location (right across from the Valley River mall) is great. However, the hotel is in need of some upgrades - it's very dated. It was not as clean as one might expect. There was no microwave in the room and, even more disappointing, no mini fridge. Unfortunately we will not return.
“Great People - normal side of the road Hotel - I'll be back”
I take juniors on tennis trips around the PNW, and have stayed at a ot of hotels. The people at this hotel were genuine and made the stay easy and fun. The breakfast was very tasty and the same friendly gentleman was there ever day and new our names by the 2nd day... great searvice tasty food, not enough options on food! Front desk very helpful and new the what we were looking for. The only downs are that the pool is outdoors, and the indoorhot tub was broken, and the sauna was cold... but it is what it is. Rooms were clean, tv small and outdated... and they were what they were... for the price very nice!
“Very Pleased”
Hotel was extreme;y friendly and answered to all our needs and requests. At checkin I requested a rewfrigerator and microwave. It was it our room within minutes after arriving in our room. They replaced the TV with a newer one upon our request. I can not say enough about this place and it's staff. Will definately stay there again when in Eugene.
“Dated Hotel Badly in Need of a Facelift and a Good Cleaning”
This hotel is set up to hold conventions and as such it has an on-site fine (in theory at least) restaurant, meeting rooms, outdoor pool, and sauna. Service was okay but nothing exceptional. Location is next to a mall and a river with a walking/bike path. Nice. Upon checking in I thought it was strange that I had to initial 3 places with legalese on the registration form. I'm not sure, but the implication was that I would be legally liable if I didn't check out by 11 am and a few other things of that sort. Gave me a bad feeling. It turns out that the rooms are off of enclosed hallways that are nicely kept. However, I checked in at dusk and was told to enter a door at the back of the hotel in a corner. I could not find it because the light bulb above the door, which looked like a service door, was burned out. I had to make 2 trips to the desk to figure out how to get into the right hallway! The room itself appeared to have been decorated in the 1980's ... nice wood furniture but worn looking, a small CRT TV (not flat screen), and nominal queen size beds. I don't know how old the carpet was, but I tried to avoid walking on it with bare feet because it was filthy looking. Lest i sound like a prude, it has been many years since I have stayed in a hotel that made me feel that way. Otherwise, the bathroom appeared to be clean but dated. I would not care to stay there again since it is not as nice as a Holiday Inn Express or a Hampton Inn, even if clean.
“Excellent location”
This hotel was on the river right next to major shopping area - very nice neighborhood. I was shocked at how small our room was when I thought I had booked a suite. We had to request a fridge when we arrived.
“A top notch facility”
I had read some negative Trip Advisor comments regarding this facility and was somewhat concerned. All that I can say is that regard is that they are completely rubbish. The hotel was great, well maintained and had great service. It may be slightly dated in its decor but overall it has great service, food and location. I would definitely stay there again.
“Nice location, great view, but needs updating”
It's a good thing the hotel has a wonderful location, because the room isn't great. Thankfully we booked a river view room, and the view was wonderful! It's the best thing the hotel has going for it. You are right on the river. Beds were OK and the room was a good size. Although the room was fairly clean, the sheets had some stains on them - yuck! We pulled the top sheet off the bed and left it on the floor so we would get a clean one, however the maid put it back on the bed! Also housekeeping had not come yet when we returned to the hotel at 5pm - we had to call to get someone to make up the room. The hotel really needs an update. Old fixtures, counters, dripping sink, etc. Not bad, just very out of date. Also the doors were thin. While we did not hear neighbors through the walls, you could hear everyone in the hall walking by loud and clear. We did upgrade our room to include evening appetizers/drinks, and breakfast. That was the best deal. Only $10 per room/per day got us an open bar and baked brie in the evening as well breakfast in the morning for all 4 of us! If we had not had a river view, I wouldn't consider going back. Definitely pay for the view - the hotel doesn't offer much else. Again, nothing too bad (except the stained sheets), but out of date, a little noisy, and not the best housekeeping.
“Nice”
It was a good hotel
“Will stay again”
My wife and I decided to try the Expedia "unpublished rate" discount program to make our Eugene reservations. After making the reservation and seeing what hotel we were given I checked the reviews. I have to say that I was a bit taken back by the negative reviews. Now I need to say that the hotel was great! The service was excellent and our room was very nice and clean. The only problem we had was that there was a room of teenagers next to us who were, let's say having way to much fun. After calling the front desk and having the kids chaperone have a talk with them all was quiet, very quiet and the rest of our stay was very pleasant.
“Mark Hoelter”
Lodging just fine. Went to dinner at hotel restaurant. Had no reservation, but asked hostess for outdoor table. We were told they are all reserved, but during the course of our meal, four of the outdoor empty tables never had customers. What's with that? Restaurant was a bit pricey overall.
