"Good reason that "Value" is in this hotel's name"
If you want a luxury hotel where you can entertain, look elsewhere in Eugene and spend at least three times as much, depending on the date. But if you need a place to sleep, shower, and get some work done while visiting Eugene, this place does the trick without bugs and rats and exorbitant charges. Centrally located to the U of O, highways, and the quasi downtown. Continental breakfast is nothing fancy, but it gets you going with coffee, juice, cereal, toast, and cook your own waffles (with that corn syrupy maple syrup). There's no in-room coffee maker, but who really likes those nasty things anyway? You need to walk at most 150 feet from your room to get your brekky. Parking is at your door. Free wifi works fine. Desk, microwave, TV, good sized fridge are handy. Pretty funny that the same picture was hung over the bed on two different walls, not 5 feet apart :-) The room decor is rather 1982, but there ain't no Intercontinental within 100 miles, so get over it. Everything works and is in decent condition. I liked the hard surface floors (hardwood and ceramic tile) because shag carpet in cheap hotels is suspect at best, disgusting at worst. Convenience store across the street. You have a friendly (albeit not too gregarious) staff that appears to be an immigrant family with moderate English language challenges.
