"Few night break at Estepona"
Booked a few nights at the Kempinski hotel to explore Estepona/Puerto Banus/Marbella region. Was pleasantly surprised with the hotel. The staff were really friendly from the moment we arrived. The rooms were great, the sauna/steam rooms were large, although they did have a problem with naked Germans wandering in and out despite there being a sign up in different languages stating 'No Nudity' as it was mixed, very anti-social of them (and most unattractive as well). Restaurants were good, especially the Alminar, very good food and the wine sommelier was friendly and knowledgeable. The breakfast buffet was a very nice surprise, vast amount of food on offer, sets you up for the whole day. All round great place, and although the weather was wet all the time, the hotel made up for it. We will definitely go back there.

"Lovely, relaxing break in Estepona"
If you are looking for a relaxing break, somewhere quiet, this could be the place to go. We went there in September 2014 and we absolutely loved it. The weather was mostly sunny. On cloudy days we used hotel spa which was great. Food was tasty. Staff was very polite. Puerto Banus for the rich and famous was about 5 minutes drive by car and Marbella about 25 minutes by car. I recommend it to anyone who wants to relax in a quiet spa hotel.

"A very relaxing holiday"
The hotel is very nice - built in 2010 so all brand new, and everything worked well. The staff are lovely and helpful. The grounds are picturesque, and we had a very relaxing time there. The hotel backs onto the beach, and it is possible to walk to Estepona along it (past a nearby nudist beach). It takes about 45 minutes - wear beach shoes as it gets rocky. The dinner buffet is very good, but a little pricey at 23 Euros per person. Restaurants in town are tasty, atmospheric, and often cheaper, though it costs 15 Euros each way to get a taxi (too far to walk for a night out, and there is not a continuos pavement). A hire car would be a good investment, and would allow one to explore the area more easily. Note: the hotel can book excursions - do ask. The "Spanish Night" horses / flamenco excursion comes recommended. The hotel's evening entertainment is best suited to families. Overall, we would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would go back. P.S. the breakfast buffet is definitely worth having - amazing choice!

"High4* standard at a 3* price"
We rented a 2 bed apartment via Expedia/Marriott for a week in April. We were very pleasantly surprised by the size and quality of the apartment(s), by the excellent facilities for our children (6 and 12) and by the very excellent staff service we received. Would recommend to any families looking for an upmarket self catering holiday where you're getting a daily room clean, full onsite services and very high standard of facilities for the children. The whole place is well kept, felt like a high four star bordering on five star resort so a real bargain. We went just before the main Easter holidays so it was also pleasing quiet and relaxing.

"Good Location"
Good location for exploring the area. We used it as a base to look for a property. There are some local shops and bars. Biker bar and Lecter cafe we can recommend. You need a car if you stay here. We had a car with firefly (Malaga airport) - AWFUL, avoid!!

    Pocket Guide: Malaga Estepona Hotels

Estepona is often mentioned in the same breath as its glitzy neighbour, Marbella, but is much less developed—and less expensive. Alongside the new hotels and modern marina, it retains a characterful Old Town with steep, cobbled streets and tapas bars. Its beaches are among the best on this stretch of coast, including a (legal) nudist beach. There is a good golf course here and Selwo Safari Park is very close by. By night it is relatively quiet.
