Great hotel and spa.

Great hotel for a few days off. Staff, food and service were fantastic. I will definitely be going back. The only problem was that the hotel were performing some maintenance and some drilling was being done at 08:30.

Very clean and comfortable hotel. Pool is good but is only open to children between 4 and 6pm - so we had to plan our day around that a bit to get a swim. Breakfast is pricey so we went somewhere else for that. Would definitely stay here again though.

A pleasant stay

A great stay with loads to do locally. A lot of money has been spent upgrading the hotel and as a result the restaurant/ bar/ gift shop and reception area really hit the mark. Unimpressed however by the "superior" family room - Not up to the spec of the photo's on the website nor reflective of a four star hotel; though it looked like room refurbishment and upgrade was ongoing. The room aside (which was perfectly habitable) a great and picturesque location for golfers and non- golfers alike. We experienced great levels of service from the bar staff and the restaurant team particularly.

rubbish wifi

rubbish wifi Everything else lovely but when you pay 120+ for a hotel room with free wifi I expect something that can open a web page in under 5 minutes

Very good

An excellent hotel with excellent facilties. Room was lovely, beds were comfy, good tea/coffee making facilities, good parking, and the swimming pool, steam room, jacuzzi etc was excellent. One downside was the price of breakfast, quite expensive so we went elsewhere for breakfast. Another downside was the price of the spa treatments, quite expensive but at least the use of the swimming pool etc was free. Other thing is the fact that your credit/debit card has to be pre authorised on arrival for more than the actual cost of the room. This is a shame as we did not spend on the pre authorised amount as we paid for dinner there and then rather than on a tab, so still waiting for the amount to be put back on debit card. Overall, excellent break. We would use the hotel again! Thank you :)

Poor customer service, low quality room

Posted 08-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
At first appearances this is a very nice hotel. Reception is smart and modern. Unfortunately the room didn't match this - very tired furniture, lumpy mattresses, no aircon, only 1 chair for a room that sleeps up to 4, and only 2 cups. "Double" beds were two singles pushed together - always a poor sign in my view and never comfortable. Customer service was poor - nobody bothered to tell us that children aren't allowed in the pool on Saturdays! Complaints to the Receptionist, went unheeded. Promises for the manager to talk to us were never fulfilled. Coffees in the bar took nearly 15 minutes to arrive and a subsequent round of coffees took even longer! Despite promises of immediate call back, it took repeated telephone calls over several days to arrange return of a toiletry bag that was left behind. All in all, a smart fronted poor show of a hotel. I would recommend against.
