I have stayed many times at the Hilton, Stansted Airport- but also tried the other main Stansted Hotels. The Hilton experience stands out as far superior to the others. The main reason is probably the staff- although most are not long term at this hotel, they are unfailingly courteous kind and helpful. Originally I used this hotel as a stopover when using the airport, but I am increasingly using it as base for business based around the area of the A1M and southern East Anglia.
We loved this place. So very English. Charming 'ye olde' room with massive, comfy bed. Everything was well presented and clean. Ensuite well equipped and clean. Breakfast excellent with plenty of choice and it was the first place that had espresso coffee as an option!!!! It had a refreshingly youthful, lively feel , with young staff and younger guests.
Had a lovely stay hotel was very oldie worldly like old country pub
Staff really friendly and nice size clean rooms with en suite bathroom
Breakfast was excellent lots of choice
Would recommend to friends
Popular with both corporate and leisure travellers, this Halstead Essex 3-star hotel is the ideal place to stay when …More
Although not a fault of the staff, when we booked into the Inn my partner and myself were informed that there was no record of us or our arrival date. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your view, a room was available for us. Reflecting upon our experience it might have been better if all the rooms had been booked, then we would have looked for more comfortable accommodation. There was little comfort in our room and the breakfast was merely adequate, it was only because we had already arranged to meet friends in Halstead that we stayed there.
My whole family stayed here for one night as we were attending a friend's surprise 50th birthday party nearby. The leisure facilities although not huge, were more than adequate. We had three rooms booked with breakfast which was excellent with a superb choice to suit all. One room for my wife, my 2 year old grand daughter and I, plus 2 for my daughters and their husbands. Only downside was that there was no blanket or top sheets provided for the travel cot for my grand daughter. I went to the reception about 10.15pm to ask for some covers and was given two large sheets by the helpful receptionist which was adequate. However, on the way back to my room which was on the ground floor, guests in one room could be heard from about 30 yards away indulging in adult activities (xxx rated) with expletives normally heard in a football stadium. I was glad I was on my own as my wife would have been totally shocked. This was the only problem I experienced.
