Cheap, but not worth it.

Posted 26-Aug-2014
Pros: The price
Cons: Bed comfort, wifi and scrapping the price of the airport shuttle.
Location: Not close enough to the airport to walk there.
On the surface the hotel looks great. Clean, friendly staff, cheap and close to the airport. However... 1. It would have been preferable sleeping on the floor of the airport the night before the flight rather than getting into one of the hotel beds. 2. You have to pay to get the airport shuttle! Hard to believe. Take the mid stay car park shuttle instead and walk across the road. At least it is free. 3. Why does this hotel advertise that it has wifi? This was non existent in the room (and no I didn't complain at the time. I checked in at 2300 and had to get up at 0400, not worth it). Every hotel I stayed in on my subsequent holiday in supposedly less developed Albania had free (and good) wifi. Holiday Inn Wifi is a joke and doesn't deserve to be advertised as a feature.

Don't they know people walk?

Posted 25-Aug-2014
Hotel airport with no pedestrian access from the airport! Plus on top of the room rate you have to pay £3 extra for the shuttle service??? Signs outside the main doors saying no noise between 10pm - 6am, however the shuttle bus that you have to pay for runs till 12am and starts at 4am. Meaning if like me you had a room over the main entrance you have the luxury of hearing the bus every 30 mins starting it's engine. This is the first holiday inn I have stayed in will defiantly be the last.

CONVENIENT TO STANSTED.

Posted 14-Aug-2014
Pros: A very nice hotel condition wise and close to the airport. Helpful staff who allowed me to leave luggage for a week while in Italy. Great breakfast.
Cons: Missed the last shuttle from the airport by 5 minutes and several others in the same way. Needs to be a way to help folks who arrive late.
Stayed 2 nites and very nice hotel. The airport shuttle was very convenient and the staff was excellent. Would stay again if flying in/out of Stansted and great value for the money.

Not walking distance from the airport, still need shuttle bus. It costs 3 pound per adult. Good news is there are 24 hours bus service.

great only if you are flying from Stansted airport

Posted 31-Jul-2014
Pros: the location is great if you are flying from Stansted
Cons: receptionists giving people a hard time after a long trip the breakfast - how hard can it be to have proper coffee available?
Location: nothing to do nearby, it is an airport hotel
We arrived after midnight to find a receptionist insisting that I show him my passport (it was somewhere in the car amongst piles of luggage and sleeping kids) claiming it was the law. When I told him that I was coming from another Holiday Inn where I had stayed for 3 nights without having to show my passport, he conceded that I could show him my passport within 15 minutes. Room was exactly the same as in all Holiday Inn Express hotels, compact but functional, except for the uncomfortable soft beds. Breakfast was really terrible though, nothing fresh was served and the only coffee available was from a machine. the speed of Wi Fi is so bad that you can hardly access the internet. When I read the instructions I realised it was done deliberately to make you buy a faster wi-fi connection. the advertising about free wi fi is really a con.

Dissapointing

Posted 17-Jul-2014
Pros: Clean, close to Stansted
Cons: The service
Location: Stansted airport
After a long trip, 15 people in the queue and there is only one receptionist showing no signs of any urgency. Very frustrating. At breakfast they ran out of plates and cutlery twice. the poor waitress did her best but had no help
