“Good facilities at Marks Tey Hotel”
This is a good hotel to stay in, with a well-equipped gym, sauna, swimming pool and tennis court; and free wi-fi in the rooms. We were a bit disappointed to learn that there is now a charge for late checkouts: £15 up to 2pm; and £30 after 2pm. Bar and restaurant facilities are fine, without being overly grand. My wife and I have enjoyed several refreshing and reviving stays at this hotel.
“Decent Hotel but that's it”
The Hotel was OK fairly average, the rooms were small and in need of an update. Hotel facilities were OK and the staff very friendly. A typical English Hotel in need of modernization
“Don't bother”
We stayded there as we were visiting our son at Essex University, the 2 bedrooms were dirty (i.e. melon seeds on floor and chairs), black hair all over blankets, crumbs on the floor. The bathrooms were not better, hairs in bathtubs and behind taps, dirty toilet seats and the toilet paper holders looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years. Shower trickled water as covered in calc. Breakfast ok, but poor selection and orange juice was watered down! Am not sure how they got their 4 stars but will definitely never stay there again.
“Peut mieux faire”
Le style est typique de la campagne anglaise, donc un peu vieillot mais propre et relativement bien entretenu. Le service est efficace et aimable. Un bémol : nous avions demandé à ce qu'on nous prête une table à repasser et un fer et ce que nous avons eu n'est pas digne d'un hôtel de cette catégorie. La table était vieille, le tissu sale et troué avec une partie de la grille en fer qui émergeait, pouvant déchirer le vêtement si on ne fait pas attention pendant le repassage.
“toujours un peu décu par le personnel de la réception”
Personnel assez froid avec un contact sans chaleur ou inexistant. Service en chambre devenu mini à n'utiliser qu'en cas d'obligation.
