Lovely hotel, great spa facilities. Club downstairs was lively with a Swing Theme night.
Room was spacious and shower was really nice. Only criticism of the room was the pillows were very soft.
Breakfast was nice but overpriced at €29 per person.
Bar staff were helpful and very efficient we had drinks every evening after a good night out on Budapest.
overall good, room..pillows not up to standard, shower ok if your 5 ft..head to low, room not cleaned one day out of 3, no fresh towels during stay. Reception & restaurant staff v pleasant,
no bar/ lounge ares to relax as under renovation...check before u book, take minibus transfer to airport far cheaper than htl taxi quote €28/30, local taxi 10/12000 huf (we paid 5000huf for 2 ..book at reception)
We had a good week in Budapest and went to a variety of musical evenings. The tour buses were useful and good value. You can take your pick as to which one suits what you require. Good selection of eating houses, we particularly favoured an "Eat all you want for a set price" which was convenient to our hotel and some of the evening activities we enjoyed.
Previously stayed in a hotel further out from the city centre and this time wanted to stay closer to the main attractions. We can't fault this hotel and it was much closer to the city centre. There were things to see and do on the walk into the city but it still took around a 20 minute walk to reach the city centre. Obviously the closer you stay to the centre the more expensive the hotels will be so this is around the limit of how far our you would want to be, bearing in mind that some of the best attractions to see are located on the other side of the Danube.
We opted to not have our breakfast at the hotel and use local cafes and patisseries which gave us far more choice and we found we could eat breakfast out for between £3.50 and £5 each day.
This hotel is located across the street from the main Budapest train station, so that made it a welcome sight coming off of a 7 hour train ride from Prague. The people hanging around this area look shady especially if your arrival is at night, but the area is relatively safe.
The front desk staff is friendly and helpful, and the room is comfortable. The included breakfast is a great bonus. The food selection is your standard basic selection of eggs, cold cuts, cereal, etc. I will definitely stay here again based on the convenient location and budget-friendly cost.
Named after Queen Elisabeth, the seventh district of Budapest is also the city's historical Jewish Quarter. The area is home to several synagogues, including Europe's largest on Dohany utca. A high proportion of young professional residents make Erzsebetvaros a popular nightlife district.
