Erfurt, Thuringia Accor Hotels

Capital of Thuringia, Erfurt has a medieval centre dominated by the gothic cathedral and St. Severus church. The Krämer Bridge, built in 1325, crosses the Gera River and is the only bridge north of the Alps made entirely with liveable houses. Martin Luther once lived in the 14th-century Augustinian Monastery, while the Anger Museum exhibits German landscape paintings. To the south is the hilly Steigerwald, part of the Thuringian Forest.
