expected more from upgrade

upgraded the room for £30 but the room was small and was atleast expecting a kingsize bed. although the upgrade includes gym passes and two starbucks drinks, i dont think i will bother next time. The hotel was very nice and had excellent facilities.

Nice hotel with friendly staff!

Pros: Friendly Staff, nice rooms and facilities.
Cons: Include within the price of the stay (expedia) using the gym/spa facilities.
Me and my girlfriend recently stayed (April 2015) at this hotel for 2 nights. We had a very lovely stay, staff were friendly and the rooms were clean and tidy. Food at the Italian restaurant was lovely. The bar area has a wide range of drinks available and also serves food until 9.45pm on certain nights. The spa area was good, but it will be getting a slight refurb from today (27/04/15), this includes the sauna being refurbished. Overall we would recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel!

My experience during my stay at the hotel was amazing! It was the perfect weekend!! The staff at the bar, restaurant and the hotel staff were lovely and friendly! The facilities at the hotel were unexpected, but were amazing. The breakfast and dinner the first night was included which I didn't know which was a bonus! As well as the swimming pool, sauna and gym!! Would deffinatly stay here again!!

Night receptionist asleep on the job.

I arrived at the hotel in the early hours of the morning after crossing the North Sea in a storm to find the hotel main entrance locked, and the lights out. After frantic knocking, I eventually woke up the night receptionist who was fast asleep under an over coat in an arm chair in the lobby. He said I wasn't expected, and was registered as a "no show" yet when I made the booking I said they should note that I would be arriving in the early hours of the morning. I asked when breakfast was served, and told between 07.00 and 11.00. I set the alarm in time to make breakfast at 10.30, despite being tired from the night before, and looked forward to an English breakfast. Breakfast had finished at 10.00. I also asked if the restaurant was open for lunch, since I was to meet a colleague at midday. I was told the restaurant was open for lunch. It wasn't. The bar was open and did food, but it was full of construction workers and very noisy, so we left to find an eatery nearby. I was offered a Starbucks coffee and a bun as compensation. The next day a team leader offered me a free upgrade, but I would have to pay for a regular room first. I wasn't coming back.

Nice modern hotel. Could hear next door neighbour's phone though, soundproofing could be better. However, staff friendly and overall very nice.

Staff were rude and arrogant.. Look down at us because we bought shopping back to the room
