“Elmira's Painted Lady - All the Charm and Grace You'd Expect of a Victorian Gem”

Elmira's Painted Lady was a find! A beautiful old Victorian home located just minutes from the college and everything else in Elmira. I stayed in Becky's Sanctuary, a delightful, cozy, comfortable room with a modern bath and flat panel TV. The proprietors were so nice - I felt more like their house guest than their hotel guest. Marilyn does the cooking, and I felt guilty that I couldn't possibly eat everything they set before me for my breakfast: a fruit cup, muffins, German apple pancake with sausage, and another blueberry cake with a blueberry sauce for dessert. And the coffee was the most wonderful coffee I've ever had. My only suggestion to the owners would be to add some signage to direct guests to their parking lot since it's on another street behind the inn.

Area recommendations
The Painted Lady is just minutes from Woodlawn Cemetery on Walnut, the final resting place for Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) and his family. His study is available to tour at nearby Elmira College. And, Elmira lies at the base of upstate New York's wine country.
