Truly lovely hotel. Great surroundings and gorgeous building. Bedroom was well laid out, pleasantly decorated and clean. A nice, calm stay - a perfect retreat from Cheshire Oaks! Staff are very helpful and friendly. You ought to stay here instead of one of those chains!

Myself, and my fiancé came to Chester for 2 nights as part of our birthday celebrations. We were checked into a nice enough room, very clean and had everything we needed - however, there was a pipe which made loud noises continuously and we phoned downstairs to reception to enquire, and the receptionist came to the room immediately and agreed this would be an irritation and therefore moved us rooms. We were moved into a much bigger room, bigger bed and there was also a sofa which was much appreciated. The staff were friendly and helpful, giving directions to the zoo etc and the generally cleanliness was brilliant. We both thoroughly enjoyed staying here and would definitely come back.
I was there for a 90th birthday party. The meal at the party was 1st class. The 1st course was fresh salmon gorgeous. My husband does not eat fish so I asked for a fruit juice for him we waited for what seemed ages but the waiter arrived with a delicious platter of creamed cheese decorated with drizzled tomato onions & viola dressing absolutely beautiful specially made just for him it was very impressive. The main course was chicken cooked to perfection with the most delicious grain mustard mash & veg. The dessert was crème brulie with brandy snap topping & delicate leaves.
An attractive hotel in the traditional country house style.Excellent, friendly, efficient staff at every level. We had breakfasts, dinner and bar food which were all beautifully served, good quality and value for money.
The hotel requires a car but is well located for exploring Chester,Liverpool and North Wales.
I would definately recommend to friends.
