Pocket Guide: Bengaluru Electronics City Hotels

Visit Electronic City in Bengaluru

The industrial park of Electronic City is in the administrative district of Anekal to the south east of Bengaluru, and houses major information technology companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Siemens and General Electric.

Established by a former electronics company chairman in the late 1970s, Electronic City led to Bengaluru becoming known as the Silicon Valley of India, and the suburb is now home to around 300 companies, plus a number of schools and colleges.

Hotels in Electronic City

In Electronic City there are three distinct zones known as ‘phases’, and Expedia’s range of hotels includes accommodation in each phase. You’ll find many hotels clustered to the south of the International Institute of Information Technology, including both budget and mid-range places to stay with free WiFi, outdoor swimming pools and 24-hour room service.

More luxurious accommodation in Electronic City includes hotels by major global brands such as Novotel, Hilton, Crowne Plaza and Marriott. Along with ample conference space and meeting rooms, most provide full-service spas and fine-dining restaurants, as well as useful services like private transfers, valet parking and dry cleaning.

Stay in Electronic City and Explore Bengaluru

In the district of Anekal, you’ll find a few interesting sights such as the holy temple of Kambada Ganesh, and the popular nature area of Muthyalamaduvu – also known as Pearl Valley – which is home to a small waterfall and some great birdwatching and hiking.

But the best Bengaluru attractions lie closer to the heart of the city. Here you’ll find impressive monuments such as Bangalore Palace and the huge Hare Krishna ISKCON Temple complex, as well as family friendly attractions like the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum and the Bal Bhavan amusement park within Cubbon Park.

Bengaluru also has one of the best drinking and dining scenes in all of southern India. Check out the restaurants along M.G. Road, or head to the neighbourhoods of Indiranagar and Koramangala for some post-work fun.

You’ll also find plenty of comedy clubs, live-music venues and nightclubs should you wish to make a night of it before returning to your Electronic City hotel.
