“Pleasantly surprised”

This hotel hasn't had many good reviews so we were quite surprised to find a grand hotel, good service, very good breakfast and reasonable buffet dinner (considering the price). The staff were more than helpful. The facilities may not all have been 5 star according to western standards but all the charges were also well below 5 star standards so I don't know what other people were expecting.

Traveller's tip
The local marina resort (within 100 yards of the hotel) has many good restaurants all reasonably priced. The hotel food was ok but I would recommend eating out. Menus are largely french but some of the Tunisian dishes are worth trying tryingwasit is better So it is

“Déçus et trompés par Voyages SNCF”

HANNIBAL PALACE à Port El Kantaoui. Erreur, grosse erreur!! C’est très cher pour ce que c'est!. Hôtel présenté 5 étoiles, il n'en a que 4 marquées à l’entrée. Il mérite à peine 2 étoiles, et encore! Personnel peu aimable, hôtel mal entretenu, moquettes usées, 2 ascenseurs sur 4 en panne, ménage approximatif, aspirateur passé irrégulièrement, moquette tachée dans la chambre, peinture craquelée sur les balcons, Le restaurant est pire : nourriture des plus simples, tous les jours la même pendant 15 jours, plats au goût de la clientèle des pays de l'Est, 2 fruits pendant 15 jours, melons et pastèque, rien d’autres, pourtant on est en Tunisie!! pas de cuisine locale, une organisation déplorable : on fait la queue 20 mn pour une nourriture sans saveur, manque d’assiettes, couverts…personnel débordé, en sous effectif. Hotel présenté sans mention d'unel'animation. Nous cherchions calme et repos. Dès le 1er soir sous la fenêtre de notre chambre,la musique à fond les décibels jusque tard dans la nuit. Merci pour le repos!! Heureusement, une personne de la réception aimable nous a changé de chambre. Vue très belle : mer, végétation, port. Sans son intervention, nous partions de l'hôtel et de la Tunisie le 2ème jour. Déçus et trompés par Voyages SNCF ! C’est fini pour nous ! Faites votre travail ! Vérifier ce que vous vendez ! C’est de la tromperie ! Grave ! Enlevez nous de votre liste de clients Arrêtez de nous envoyer vos pubs, promos etc.

“El Hana Hannibal Palace”

Het eten van het lopend buffet was slecht, weinig en geen variatie. De tv deed het ook niet altijd en het warme water had heel, heel lang nodig om warm te worden. Het personeel van het restaurant, de bar en huishouding waren heel vriendelijk en gezellig maar van de receptie of management kwam er geen vriendelijk lachje. Wij gaan hier niet meer naar toe terug, er zijn veel leukere en mooiere hotels in die prachtige stadje!
