Not a healthy atmosphere due to so much smoke

Even though I was in a non-smoking room, the smoke came in from the hallway, under the door, 24/7. Also, the waffle-making equipment didn't work for two of the days I was there. The room itself was generally pleasant and clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I just didn't feel healthy staying at the hotel.

Not a good night in El Dorado!!!!!

This motel did not have my reservation when I arrived. The reservation was made by my partner about 1 hour 15 minutes before I arrived. Hotels.com tried calling the motel. There was no answer as the desk clerk was outside smoking. It took over an hour to for me to get my room. The desk clerk who was working on Friday, Dec. 5th, at 7:30 pm showed little concern for my situation nor seemed to care whether he had my business or not. In looking at other reviews of this motel, there have been previous issues with customers who have booked there room thru websites that were not Super 8's. I don't know how this all works electronically between this Super 8 and Hotels.com in establishing/confirming a reservation. Thus, I am not sure who to blame here. However, this desk clerk needs a major attitude adjustment and better training in how to deal with his paying customer. And, the owner of this motel might consider looking into why these reservations are not getting "into you system" in a timely fashion. Once this Super 8 got my reservation, the desk clerk took care of someone else first before getting me into my room. You would have thought waiting in the lobby for over an hour, would have meant something.

Room clean, bed good, problem with check-in - apparently our room had been given to someone else, but they had us in an equivalent room quickly, so no harm done.

Call property ahead of time!

The hotel was fine but when we got there they put us in a smoking room and we had booked a non-smoking room. The lady at the desk told us hotels.com did not specify and that was all they had. We told her that was non-acceptable and after some severe "arm twisting" she found us a non-smoking room. So my advice is to call ahead and mske sure you have reserved what you actually want and paid for. I dont know who dropped the ball but it should never have happenef.

Pros: Friendly receptionist in the AM
Cons: condition of room
BOOKED NON-SMOKING KING (expedia.com) => found DBLE SMOKING. Desk clerk RELUCTANTLY gave me a DBLE NON-SMOKING ROOM. It had an annoying fly zipping around all night, appearance was less than acceptable (damaged night table, dirty looking lampshades, stained bedspreads, tub in need of repair, moldy looking shower curtain, edge worn bath mat, broken air conditioner cover, fuzzy television reception ).
