Solares Del Sur Patagonia offers 12 accommodations with minibars and espresso makers. Balconies open to city, lake, or mountain views. Each accommodation is individually furnished. Pillowtop beds feature signature bedding and down blankets. Televisions come with satellite channels, free movie channels, and first-run movies. Accommodations at this 3-star aparthotel have kitchens with refrigerators, microwaves, cookware/dishes/utensils, and coffee/tea makers. Bathrooms include bathtubs or showers with deep soaking bathtubs and rainfall showerheads. Bathrooms are also outfitted with makeup/shaving mirrors, bidets, and complimentary toiletries.
Guests can surf the web using the complimentary wireless high-speed Internet access. Business-friendly amenities include desks, safes, and phones. Additionally, rooms include hair dryers and windows that open. In-room massages, irons/ironing boards, and wake-up calls can be requested. “Great staff, comfortable rooms”
We are a family of 5 and we stayed here for 3 nights while seeing the surrounding area. The staff was so kind and helpful and always went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. They were very helpful setting up a tour for us to see the glacier and gave us a variety of options of what we could do. The cabins are large with 2 bedrooms upstairs and a kitchen, sitting area/table and bathroom downstairs. Breakfast is included, which is delivered the night before. Not the best food, but there is cereal and milk which was fine. The cabins are a bit outside of town (25-30 min walk) so it can be a hassle to go back and forth for dinner/groceries, but the front desk will happily call you a cab which costs around USD$4. We would usually walk one way and take a cab the other way. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to others.
“Lovely Patagonia”
Nice, quaint hotel located a little outside El Calafate. Great service and the people really helped me with the tour packages I closed ahead of time. Good thing I did before I arrived as many of the great tours (Big Ice & Glaciares) were sold out. To go to El Calafate and not partake in these tours would be a crime. Hotel is not close to the city, but with cheap cabs this is no big deal. We walked it in about 20 minutes. We spent our New Years at the hotel and the restaurant provided a great menu (and great wine). Breakfast was delivered the night before to the room, so that we could eat at our leisure before we headed out for the days activities. Reheated coffee is not the best option. Hotel could offer a little more variety at Breakfast, as we got tired of the same break, cake everyday. Our cabin (cabana) was very clean and offered two rooms upstairs and a dining room/tv/kitchen down below. The cabin temperature was ideal and kept out the cold. The hotel staff was excellent and were always available to help. Going back to El Calafate, I would return! FYI. Tour packages only accept CASH, so make sure you are prepared...
