“Nice place to stay”

The hotel is well located {walking distance from the town}. The staff was helpful in meeting our goals. The breakfast was good. The room was just fine and had views of the lake.

Area recommendations
We talked to other travellers who depended on hotel shuttles to get into town. It was inconvenient for them. A hotel in the town area would be preferable.

“One of the better hotels in El Calafate”

Good hotel on the edge of the main town. 15 minute walk to the main shopping/restaurant area. Room was warm and comfortable with a good clean bathroom. Breakfast was basic with not much choice especially for hot food in contrast to the main restaurant where we enjoyed a couple of evening meals that were well cooked and at a resonable price. Reception helped us to book trips and generally took care of our requests. In all a good hotel, if a little expensive but unless you are prepared to stay out of the town prices are high in El Calafate, captive audience syndrome!

What to pack
Plenty of warm clothing especially if you intend to visit the glaciers
