“Great choice when in Calafate”

Hosteria Puerto San Julian is a brilliant choice when staying in Calafate. The staff is extremely nice and helpful, the rooms always clean and tidy and it is only 5 minutes from the center. It was a great stay specially because it is really welcoming, the staff is more than happy to help us out in what we needed & the hostel itself is really confortable. If I'm ever again in Calafate, I will for sure return to this hosteria.

“Wonderful service and modern hosteria”

I would highly recommend this hosteria in el calafate! It is small enough to give you personal attention, but without being intrusive. Gaston and the other staff at the hotel are extremely obliging and helpful - nothing is too much trouble for them. The breakfast is served continental style, is fresh and the dining area homely and bright. Rooms are modern and very neat and clean with modern bathroom facilities. A nice touch is the free internet access in the reception area. Overall a wonderful experience - thank you!

Area recommendations
Perito Moreno glacier and the mini-trekking is an absolute must!
When to go
December is great - warm enough without being too hot!
Getting there
I would highly recommend LAN airlines when travelling in Argentina - they have excellent service. This includes ease and efficiency of online reservations, a reminder for online check in, and in the air. Their fleet is extremely modern and the in-air service was friendly and relaxed.

You have to have the Patagonian Lamb, the Trout and Malbec red wine!!!
