“off the beaten track”

In a land of tiny dispersed lodgings, this one was the most remote. I t was like a tiny European pension,clean and friendly.The food was good. But, don't expect a short walk to town. On the plus side, the bird sanctuary is a short evening stroll away.

“Nice Hotel”

Hotel is very clean and comfortable, and it faces Lake Argentina. Staffs are really nice and helpful! Half hour walking distance from central down town.

“Warm, comfortable and friendly”

I definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for an expereince close with the hotel, seemed like a bed and breakfast, the staff is so warm and helpful.

“Sehr zu empfehlen, wenn man ein Auto hat”

Wir waren 3 Nächte in der Hosteria Meulen. Ein gutes Hotel, mit sehr freundlichem Service und geschmackvoller "rustikaler" Einrichtung. Das Frühstück war typisch argentinisch (d.h. wenig und süß) aber gut. Die Zimmer zur vorderen Seite haben einen fantastischen Blick über die Laguna Nimez und einen Teil des Largo Argentino. Fernseher, Safe, Fön waren ebenfalls standardmäßig enthalten. Da wir ein Auto hatten, war die Entfernung zum Zentrum kein Problem. Ansonsten wären sicher 25 Minuten Fußmarsch über unbefestigtes Gelände notwendig gewesen. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis passte für uns super und wir können das Hotel auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen!

Area recommendations

Hauptattraktion ist natürlich der Glacier Perito Moreno. Hier sollte man einen ganzen Tag einplanen. Interessant auch die Bootstour zum Uppsala Gletscher. Eine Tagestour nach El Chalten sollte lieber gegen einen längeren Aufenthalt (3-5 Tage) in diesem Ort getauscht werden, da das Wetter unberechenbar ist und wenn man Pech hat, an dem 1 Tag nur Regen und Sturm erwischt (obwohl in El Calafate die Sonne scheint ;-))
