“Small but clean”
Rooms are small but clean. Hotel location is very good for access to shopping and dining. Walls are thin, we could hear the next guys TV. Nice to have a flat screen TV.
“Cheap, friendly, clean; not too much personality”
For what it is, the hotel was very nice and quiet. The staff were helpful and friendly, finding extra pillows for us and answering questions where possible. We had a minor problem with the heat; they immediately sent a maintenance guy up and offered us a new room. The room was small but well organized. The pillows were nothing to write home about (a bit too thick and firm to really be comfortable). Batchroom was clean, but institutional as these places can be. The pool looked good. The exercise room is very small; literally a room. There is a Superstore and restaraunts around. It's a great location for getting around. The wifi was a nightmare and cut out every 2-3 minutes, so you had to keep logging in.
“Travelodge was good for the price”
I didn't pay much for this hotel so the price was right, the room was clean. Continental breakfast was ok, boiled eggs, bagels, usual stuff.
“Impressed with the price... not impressed with the door slamming in evening + middle of the night!”
I liked the price... did not like being wakened up in the middle of the night (a couple times) with door closing + slamming... I would suggest thicker walls +/or doors. I was truly impressed with the Travelodge West Edmonton as I believe it had more solid doors... and maybe thicker carpet to dull the noise? I would suggest Travelodge West to state "smoking" or "non-smoking" on the Internet... I needed non-smoking, but didn't know the room was a smoking room. I got a non-smoking room for no extra charge. I was truly pleased with Travelodge West Edmonton... but didn't like Travelodge South because of noise.
“Shaggy bath”
The room was not clean, bathtub was covered in someone else's hair and the bathroom floor and toilet seem to have been foregone. Continental breakfast was the highlight and and it was very well maintained and offered something for everyone.
“Okay place for a night stay over”
The room we had was very compact(Queen bed) It was nice to see a mocrowave and fridge in it. Very easy access for travellers coming from the south and did not find it noisy in the morning. We had gone up for just an evening so it suited our purpose.
“Look for the silver lining”
The hotel itself wasn't really bad although my numbers may reflect that way. When I checked in, I said I did not want a smoking room. When I got to my room it was DEFINITELY a smoking room. Wow what a smell. I just figured I got what I asked for and I wasn't upset until I met a collegue for dinner later that evening. We booked our rooms at the same time and he checked in after me and he got a non-smoking room with a couch, fridge, microwave.... Night #2 I switched to a non-smoking room. The next morning I went into the 'gym' to do my workout. The gym is a madeover hotel room with 3 pieces of equipment shoved in there. There is no air circulation so it makes working out a bit tough although there was equipment which is more than some hotels and I could get my workout done. The continental breakfast which is provided for free was VERY GOOD. Lots of choices and very friendly staff. There were many healthy choices in the selection which is not always the case. Had I received the non-smoking room at the beginning of the trip I'm sure my review would have been a little different. It's a nice hotel that is getting a bit old but the location was good for where I needed to go. Breakfast was a nice bonus, there was gym equipment provided which is nice and overall I would recommend this hotel to a friend.
“travelodge experience”
Hotel was fine and what we expected. Problem was the noisy teenagers staying the same first night who were totally inconsiderate of other hotel guests. The next night was due to other loud guests returning late. In all we got 3 decent nights sleep out of 4. Staff were friendly and apologetic, other facilities fine.
“Edmonton Travelodge”
Older motel-style accommodation; clean, but still old. A breakfast room for "continental" style breakfast that really provided most breakfast dishes for the average traveller. Our stay was short and was just O.K. for what we needed.
“Could have been better”
As a smoker and for the reason I went there this hotel was just a place to sleep. No frills, the smoking rooms could be cleaned up a bit more meaning new paint on the walls, or walls washed. This may not reflect totally on the rest of the non smoking Hotel rooms, which I did not see. So if you are a smoker and will not be spending much time in your room this is a good bargain. Easy access to main roads to the downtown core and close enough to the airport.
