“Third time we stayed and will definitely go back.”

Great location. Rooms are a little dated, but clean and large. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely go back.

Area recommendations
Downtown or Whyte Avenue. Convenient and plenty of restaurants and shopping.

“Would go again!”

Nice location, good food at the restaurant. My room window looked directly into the main concourse of the City Centre Mall though - that was odd... always had to have the drapes closed for any privacy - made me feel a little like hermit. But otherwise, it was comfortable.

Comment from the hotel's management
Thank you for your review. It is very much appreciated. I would like to mention that we do have outside facing rooms so if you prefer, please request one the next time you are with us. With regards to the mall facing rooms, the window is tinted for one way. You can see out but they cannot see you so you do not need to shut your heavy drapes and can allow some of the sun in from the large skylight in the middle of the common area. Thank you for your business and have a safe and happy holiday season.

“Staff was friendly, but did not make up for the room”

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the location is very convenient, and the hotel has all the amenities that one needs including free wifi; however, as the other reviews say, the rooms are very dated. It is time for an upgrade to the rooms and a decorator. The suites are very large, which was nice but all the walls a neutral colour with no paintings on the walls, it felt very cold. The ambient temperature of the room never got below 28 degrees even though we had the a/c on full blast which made for a very uncomfortable sleep. Even after we called the front desk, this problem could not be rectified. The valet parking was quick and satisfactory, and the 23 dollar cost was acceptable considering it would be near the same price if I choose to park the vehicle my self in the downtown parking garage. All in all, I would return to this hotel after it completes the much needed updates, as the staff and location were great.

Comment from the hotel's management
Thank you for your feedback. The Hotel is aware that while our rooms are clean and well maintained some are in need of an upgrade. We are working towards this goal and can assure all of our guests that it is a top priority. Thank you for your business, it is truly appreciated.

“Wonderful Staff”

We love the hotel for it's convenience to downtown. The staff greeted us with smiles and gave our 2 kids their own gift bag with toys in it. We absolutely love our waiter at the breakfast in Cocoa's who is always willing to go above and beyond the call of duty, smiling and courteous. The breakfast is amazing with a chef ready to make your personalized omlette, chicken (not pork) sausages, brown eggs and anything else you can imagine. The only complaint is the elevator system for the parkade is separate from the hotel elevator and isn't clearly marked as to what level/floor you're on. For example, to go to level P3 (parking) you press Level 5 in the elevator which is a little confusing. They also separate west from east which further confuses the matter. The day we checked out, I thought they charged me an extra meal and they graciously went and got the ticket that I signed (I was in the wrong), but they didn't make me feel bad about having to go and get it. They were happy that everything worked out...great, amazing customer service!!!!

Comment from the hotel's management
I was very happy to read that you enjoyed your stay and especially that we were able to recognize your children. Our front desk team takes great pride in the numerous positive comments they receive and I have passed your review along to the team at the hotel. I am sorry about the parkade directions. For others who may be reading this, we are on the MAIN FLOOR Mall level. It is best to park in the West parkade as it links the closest to the Hotel lobby. Thank you for your business and for taking the time to submit your review. They are both very much appreciated. Happy New Year

“Very Impressed with the overall experience”

The best hotel experience I've had. The only down side is the parking in downtown.

Comment from the hotel's management
Thank you for your wonderful feedback. I understand that downtown properties have their challenges with regards to parking and can appreciate the inconvenience caused as I travel frequently to large city centres and it is always a challenge for me as well.

“best hotel we've stayed in edmonton in a long time!”

could use more luggage carts, fortunately the kind lady who checked us in helped carry our luggage to our room. People were very friendly and courteous which was nice to see for a change in edmonton hotels. would stay there again any day.

Area recommendations
It was central for the shopping we wanted to do, easy access to west edmonton mall, just stay on stony plain until you reach 170th street. Also easy access to south view common and other areas of the city we went.
Dining
Great restaurants and affordable

I am very sorry for your experience. We normally get very good reviews from many different review sites so I was honestly surprised to read that you had such a negative experience. We do have flat screens in all of our 1 bedroom suites and while slightly older, we do generally have very well maintained guestrooms. I have shared your comments with our maintenance and housekeeping departments and they will investigate the source of your concerns. Thank you for your review and for your business
