Not the best

Posted 27-Jul-2015
Pros: Location, front desk, door and lobby staff were a credit.
Cons: Free wifi and enough staff at the bar on a Saturday night
Location: Too many to list
After paying over $585 per night for three nights in a very, very small room ( #330 ) we were then asked to pay $20 per day for wifi...........crazy. Breakfast was OK but the lady who signed us in was so patronizing she's lucky I was in a good mood. Likewise, in the Caley Bar on the Saturday night the bar tender ( arrogant ) and waiter because they were alone and seemed busy when there was only a dozen people in the bar kept on insisting we took a seat in the lounge when I replied my wife and I wanted to stay at the bar he delayed us longer. Then a Scottish gentlemen arrived he too was told to find a seat to which he replied I have one but its been 20 mins and I need a drink

BEAUTIFUL HOTEL. ROOM WAS FAR TOO SMALL.

Posted 24-Jul-2015
Pros: Location.
Cons: Service and remove some of the furniture from room. Locate the TV in a better position.
Location: Excellent
Stunning hotel and excellent location. Room was far too small and cluttered with furniture. Was very difficult to move about in the room. For a 5 star hotel I was very surprised to find out that they did not sell Bacardi.

Good location

Posted 23-Jul-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Cleanliness
Great views if you have a castle facing room. Sadly our room was very dark and dingy, painted in dark grey and not very clean.

Gorgeous historic hotel right in the center of Edinburg. Walk right out the front door to the castle! Wonderful staff...all the men concierge & doormen wear beautiful plaid pants...so charming! Wonderful restaurant & huge bar area. Delicious breakfast! Helpful staff. Perfect place to stay in Scotland.

Great hotel, internet access stinks

Posted 21-Jul-2015
Pros: Staff and location
Cons: Internet access. My wife and friend with us all complained of have to re-enter info to get on internet.
Come for fun and location. Don't plan to get work done, internet is not good, must be fixed.

A busy hotel with good size rooms. The breakfast experience was difficult. Too noisy and mediocre food

Cons: I rated the hotel 5 star deservedly. The only issue is the dreary battleship gray colored walls in the hotel room.
Lovely experience, friendy staff. Great bar and restaurants in hotel. Piano player in the evenings was a nice touch.
