We were at the very top of the building 3rd floor in the loch Eck room. Had booked a superior room with queen size bed, flat screen tv (at end of bed), tea/coffee making facilities, rain shower and mini bar. We also got a huge bath (not expecting that) which had a tv built into the wall with mood lighting which was great for a romantic soak😉. Staff were efficient and courteous. The hotel itself does not have bar or restaurant, however there is a beer cellar and steak restaurant next door (we didnt use these so cannot comment on them). No lift, so if you are not up to climbing stairs you might want to request a room on the lower floors. The hotel is in a great location, just 15-20 minute walk from Waverly station and Princess Street. Its then about a further 10-15 mins to the Royal Mile. At this time, there is quite a lot of construction work going in in this area of Edinburgh. Wasnt a problem for us, but those wanting to sleep in of a morning need to be aware that there may be noise disturbance early doors (from about 8am). Overall an excellent stay/base to explore the city, good value and well recommended.
