“A Bit of the Old World”

Charm and decor in the heart of Edinburgh in a formerly exclusive club dedicated to the Scottish Highland Regiment. The staff are helpful and congenial. A susbstantial hot brakfast is served and the Club is close to all the important tourist attractions.

We were upgraded to a 4-poster bedroom on arrival. The staff were very friendly, informative and helpful.

“Charming, central Edinburgh hotel”

Very pleasant hotel in lovely Georgian building, part of a beautiful Georgian square with central gardens. Only a few minutes from Princes st and 10 mins walk from train station. Hotel is the"gentlemens club" for the military from the local regiments and has that old world club feel. Immaculate surroundings and good service. Lovely room with big comfortable bed and large modern bathroom (although our friends had an equally nice older style bathroom). Fantastic breakfast choice taken in beautiful Dining room where we also had 1 very nice evening meal. Charming hotel with old fashioned feel and good value. We would certainly stay there again and recommend it unless you are looking for a young, modern atmosphere

“recommendation for royal scots club”

This historic club was very convenient, with shops, restaurants and the skylink airport transportation nearby It was off the tourist track and quiet. We had a basement room and would recommend requesting a first or second floor room. It also was a B & B, which we did not realize and is another nice feature as the restaurant was quite good as well.

everything about our stay was excellent. the staff were polite, caring and helpful with all enquiries. the food was good and menus gave plenty of choice. the accommodation in the bedroom was clean and comfortable and quiet.

“Couldn't be better”

We stayed at 5 different hotels during our two week vacation and this had to be one of the best. The room was wonderful but it was the staff that put this over the top. They couldn't do enough for us and I vote them as the friendliest people ever. The location is just far enough away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to walk. If I were going back to Edinburgh, this would be my hotel of choice.

“Would Definitely GO BACK”

Value for Room was very good. Hotel/ B&B atmosphere. Dining Room on 2nd floor. Rooms on 3rd (European's 2nd floor). Room was overlooking lovely park - only drawback - needs new carpeting... very old - everyone was very helpful - great English Breakfast.... Bus Stop literally just around the corner straight to Princess Street and The Royal Mile.
