“great location-interesting decor-funnkiy roof top gardens-lot's of outdoor space up on the roof”
We stayed at the Glass house for 4 nights on our first trip to Edinburgh. It is listed as a 5 star hotel-and it seems to be trying to strive towards that-the lobby is very modern and cold-did not appeal to me-staff friendly enough but seemed extremely formal and not as engaging as we found in other local's all over town-the room was nice-the roof top location of the rooms is cool-and the views from our room(10) were great! We could see clear right up to the top of Calton Hill-which is this great viewing location and a must see-not that hard of a walk up to the top-and well worth the trek up! Overall-the hotel was nice-maybe not our style-I would have liked something cozier-not the stark modern decor-etc.
“Great Hotel in Central London”
This is a very posh Hotel in a central location in London right off Trafalgar Square and within walking distance to the tube, the river and the railway. The entrance into a plush lobby and bistro bar is very impressive. The rooms are large by European standards and well appointed and laid out with a fridge and coffee/tea service. The service and security is very good. I highly recommend this hotel for a business travelor who wants a central location or a tourist who wants to be near everything.
“Edinburgh”
Beautiful hotel and the rooftop garden is the best.
“Great Hotel In Great Location”
The Glasshouse Hotel is very well maintained and has extremely helpful and courteous staff. It is also well located just a 5min walk to Princes Street and 10mins to the Royal Mile. Should you wish to, there are discounts available for the spa, gym and pool facilities at their sister hotel "The Scotsman" which is again only a 5min walk away. The only let down was the small size of the room compared to what we expected from the pictures. The TV was also extremely small and the remote didn't work which was frustrating. However, since we weren't there to watch the tv this was only a small hinderence. The bed was supremely comfortable and the shower was excellent! The views from the rooftop garden of the Firth were also very picturesque.
“Great, but watch out for parking prices”
Had a great time and the hotel was fab, only downside was the 42 pounds for x2 nights parking, next door in the OMNI centre. Will go back but get the train next time.
“The most confortable Suit in Edinburgh”
The Glasshouse is an excellent choice for visiting Edinburgh, close to everything and in a nice area. Dont miss Calton Hill just a cross the street.
“A warm & Friendly hotel!”
We stayed on July 4th/5th and had one of the Whiskey rooms with Balcony facing out over Edinburgh. on arrival first impressions were wobbly. There was no hotel parking and you had to drop your bags off and find the nearest car park in the cinema car park next door...but once in the hotel the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming...and we loved the room....the views from the balcony which was HUGE was fantastic...the playhouse theatre is next door and you are within walking distance of central edinburgh and some decent bars....the in-room service food was great and the Honesty bar and lounge was a nice touch too......will definitely go back!
“great hotel”
Great hotel with very friendly staff. Everyone was very helpful and this in my opinion helped to make our stay even more enjoyable. Our room was on the top floor with an external door leading out on to the roof garden which we found made it all the better as you never had to sit inside if the weather was good. We would recommend this hotel and hope to return in the near future.
“A very good city hotel”
A very nice hotel within close walking distances to all city attractions. The staff were all very plesant and helpful. The bed was very confortable and the bathroom was very nice. There are some signs of aging within the room but nothing that made the stay an uncomfertable one. I would definately consider staying here again on my return to Edinburgh.
“Luv to go back sometime”
Great welcome by the door staff and reception. The hotel and the suite was very spacious and spotless. The view from the balcony of our suite was great and would be even better in the summer. The night porter service is 24 hours and the meal I ordered in the early hours arrived within 15 minutes and was delicious and not expensive. A very enjoyable stay and would certainly return in the future.
