Central student style accomodation

Posted 04-Jul-2014
We were only staying one night. It wasn't clear that the room was part of a student complex. The apartment allocated was adequate but very narrow. The bed W's barely a double. There was no view from the window and the curtains didn't function. There was an armchair in the apartment that served no function as it faced in to the small shower room. That said the apartment was clean and tidy and for the price fine for one night.

Very pleased

Posted 30-Jun-2014
Pros: Clean, well-cared for. Front desk very informative.
Location: Easy walking distance to Royal Mile. View of Salisbury crags.
Rooms are recently updated, the design is very compact, a bit like being on a ship.

Dorm style apartment

Posted 12-Jun-2014
Great location, about a 10 minute walk to the Waverley station and bus tours. Was great to have a fridge and dishes. Tesco (grocery store) right around the corner and open until 1am. Unfortunately the walls were very thin and could hear conversations in the hall and people are moving around at all times of the of the night

Great apartments

Posted 22-May-2014
Pros: Good wifi, clean and comfortable room with kitchen facilities
Cons: Only one "armchair" by the TV, and it would be nice to watch the TV from bed.
Location: Very close to Tesco and Arthur's Seat - only 10 minutes walk to the Royal Mile in a quiet part of town.
Really impressed with the room - comfy bed, great shower, full kitchen facilities.

12th April

Booked the room for a get together with my best friend and the Sarah millican show. Easy to find, really close to the theatre and walking distance from the train station. Only two points that I would change for my circumstance would be a tv in the bedroom and a layer than 10am check out.

Fantastic Quality Self Catering Apartment

Posted 30-Jan-2014 on Hotels.com
A compact apartment, very central yet quiet area, 2 mins from a bus route and 10 mins walk from Waverley Station. Immaculate apartment, with every comfort of home. Lovely dishes, fully equipped kitchen and very nice toiletries. Ideal for a business traveller who wants to cook for themselves, though there are restaurants galore nearby. Ideal for the Edinburgh Festival, really near the University and Festival Theatre. Very cute mezzanine style. Really nice and good value too!

Very convenient to the University, but small

Posted 27-Jan-2014 on Hotels.com
The room is in a wing of a University dorm, with most of the people in the building being students. The room I stayed in was split-level, with a nice, though small, bathroom with shower on the landing, a nice bedroom area on the upper level, and a small kitchen counter, desk, table with chairs downstairs (with a TV on the wall). The downstairs felt fairly cramped, and would have been difficult for more than one person. And the lower level felt dark. But the room is clean and having a small refrigerator, a microwave, and a kitchen sink, along with utensils, glasses, etc. is convenient for a stay of more than a couple of days.

A bit basic, and a bit chilly

Posted 13-Jan-2014 on Hotels.com
Very clean, and utilitarian. Bed was fine, but there was not a lot of comfort: nowhere to lounge while watching the tv, for example. No sign that anyone came in to empty the bins or make the bed, still less change the linen. Biggest problem was that it was chilly: the button which allowed you to 'boost' the heating worked (or claimed to work: not clear which it really was) for an hour, maybe two, at which point you had to press it again. It made the room feel very cool when you came back to it at 6pm, and just as chilly when you woke up. It may be the right way to treat students, but it is no way to treat adults who pay rather more. And no breakfast (maybe it is different when the students are all back, but this had not been explained in advance). All in all, rather underwhelming.

Nice room but noisy.

Posted 25-Nov-2013
Pros: The room and friendliness of the staff.
Cons: Sound proofing!
Location: Close to royal mile, 5-10 minute walk i'd say. Really good location for the cost.
I'm sure we were just unlucky as a rugby match was on so the noisy rugby crowd were staying here but we had the worst night's sleep ever. I'd stay here again but would bring earplugs just in case. On the plus side the apartment was lovely, had everything you needed.
