“Edinburgh's Hidden Jewel”

Murrayfield Hotel was a very nice hotel. It was just outside of downtown but you could either walk or catch the busy easily to the centre. The breakfast included in the morning was delicious and we were pleased with our room.

“Great base for Murrayfield Stadium.”

Stayed here for a Six Nations rugby game. Ideally situated for the ground. Was very very busy with rugby fans in bar and grounds, but well catered for and the atmosphere was excellent. The room was pleasant, though the double bed was two singles joined together, which was annoying and a bit uncomfortable. The bathroom was new and very clean. The bar area was nicely decorated. All staff very pleasant and friendly. Had lunch in the bar which was good. Would definitely stay here again if visiting Murrayfield.

“Would Definitely Stay Here Again”

Our experience at the Murrayfield Hotel was on the whole very positive indeed. The service was excellent; the staff were helpful, friendly and courteous, and the breakfast was just the thing to start a day of sightseeing. Though the building is obviously quite old, it was maintained well, and the room was clean and well stocked with little extra's, such as coffee, tea, cookies, an iron, hairdryer and a trouser press. The bathroom was clean, although could have been more spacious. Our only complaint was the bed, which was rock hard, and on mentioning it to a manager, the only solution she could offer, was for them to turn it over. She said it was less than a month old, but it had obviously not been checked by anyone, for some of the springs were pushing outward, and its hardness did not make for a comfortable two nights. Nevertheless, were this to be the only bed they have in this condition, and on asking other guests, it appears so, we would recommend the Murrayfield to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

“Good all round”

Very well situated for getting from the airport (bus stop Murayfield) and also into Edinburgh centre by public transport. Staff very helpful if somewhat busy as the large bar is very popular with locals. Excellent breakfast. Comfortable elegant room if a bit on small side with a king size bed. Great atmosphere.

“Good, convenient hotel”

Hotel easy to find, very handy for bus routes into the city. Excellent breakfast, friendly staff. We stayed in the Murrayfield Lodge which is about 3 doors away from the main hotel - would have been nice if they'd provided umbrellas as it was raining on a couple of days when we went for breakfast. Room v. comfortable & spacious, had obviously been refurbished but a few areas needed attention. Only complaint was lack of illumination - no bedside lights & only about a 5-watt bulb in the main light.

“good for parking, nice place apart from the faulty raidiator”

Enough parking in grounds and 30 mins walk into town or hop on the bus.We were in the lodge so had to go out to the hotel for breakfast. Our room was cold and our raidotor wasn't hot and needed bleeding. They were very promt to fix it but the next day we had the same problem. Must be too much air in the heating overall. Would be a good place if it's not cld
