“GO GO GO!”

Fab hotel in a great location. Staff very friendly and will do anything for you. Bar and restaurant very welcoming. Rooms comfortable with everything you need from a large bath, power shower and even a kettle and tea and coffee. Have told all our friends and family about it and will def go back. 10 mins in a taxi to centre of town and on site parking.

“My worst hotel stay in Edinburgh”

I had a doublebed room booked for my visit in late May 2001. Upon arrival I was given a twin bed room and despite telling them that this is not what I had booked I was told that the hotel was full and no changes could be made. Upon entrance to my room a foul smell was emanating, and I could see an air freshner positioned in the corner to lessen tthe effect of the smell (the air freshner was ineffective). The first day when I returned to my room the door had left open and had also not been cleaned properly with cups glasses remaining unwashed. I complained about this but to no effect. The two single beds provided in were undoubtedly the worst in my experience in Edinburgh - I have been travelling up each week from London to Edinburgh since Jan 2011 upto now (June 2011), and the springs in the matteres were designed to ensure no one could sleep in the room. This is without doubt my worst experience of a 'Hotel' in Edinburgh and I would definitely not recommend it to anyone.

“Great base for Murrayfield Stadium.”

Stayed here for a Six Nations rugby game. Ideally situated for the ground. Was very very busy with rugby fans in bar and grounds, but well catered for and the atmosphere was excellent. The room was pleasant, though the double bed was two singles joined together, which was annoying and a bit uncomfortable. The bathroom was new and very clean. The bar area was nicely decorated. All staff very pleasant and friendly. Had lunch in the bar which was good. Would definitely stay here again if visiting Murrayfield.

“It was good place to stay in!”

Hotel building is in very good condition - rooms are big and clean, hotel staff was polite and friendly, restaurant serves high-quality food - what else do you need? Wi-fi coverage wasn't that good, but it's the same with most hotels in UK. When I arrived I found my room to be somewhat noisy, but it wasn't a problem to change it, and the rest of the the stay there were no trouble at all. Highly recommended!

“Reasonably priced, and certainly recommended.”

Hotel was very easy to find. Parking spaces were not many but we did get a bay for our car. The staff was nice and friendly. The hotel had a bar of their own with a wide variety of drinks. The sitting space outside the bar was nice. Our room was a 3-sleeper, with nice Victorian style high ceiling. It was reasonably clean. And oh, the breakfast - it was just as we expected. Lots of variety, starting with cereals and juice, to full English/Scottish. Really enjoyed the breakfast. Overall I'd certainly recommend it.

“Best hotel for Rugby experience.”

Lovely place. Extension has worked well. We had a lovely room in the lodge, no need to go outside for access anymore. Good value for money food and staff remembered us from last year. Very friendly. Considering further trip to see more of beautiful Edinburgh without the rugby.

We went for Rugby League Magic Weekend so Murrayfield Hotel is ideal but we did manage a walk in Waverley Gardens (beautiful) but there are a host of historic and interesting places to see especially around Holyrood Palace.
