“Fantastic hotel on a fantastic coastline”

Hotel looked great on the website and turned out to be as good as we hoped. Fantastic location on the coast with stunning views of the Firth of Forth and its islands including Bass Rock. Stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and from breakfast and a lounge meal would rate the food highly. Staff all very friendly and room size generous including the bed! Would love to stay again and have no hesitation in recommending it.

Beautiful setting, modern inside, room was good with lovely views, bed large and very comfy. Room service breakfast was great, although a slight issue with the order was a bit of a dampner (came without cuttlery, then took a while to arrive). North berwick is a lovely little town well worth an explore, take time to walk up the 'law' on the outskirts of Berwick for striking views over the town. Good beach for kids. 30 minute train ride into Edinburgh, about £7 return which is a bargain. We will definatley visit this hotel again, and stay longer next time to experience the lovely-looking spa and classy restaraunt.

“Good for the money”

Very nice hotel. Room was a little small, but then again it is the UK. Room service was a little slow and housekeeping too. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was excelent. I would stay there again.

“Great relaxation”

After staying in Edinburgh I decided to have a night at this hotel. Getting there was easy by the train from Edinburgh. A short quite walk to the hotel. It seemed like the town of Nth Berwick was dead and definatley not a place for lively activity. The hotel was like and old golf and spa resort, I guess it still is. The building and its surrounds would have been first class many years ago but it still offered alot. I say if you are into golf or relaxation then this is a place to spend sometime at. The service was good, the food fine. I would reckon this to gropus for golfing holidays etc.

“Hotel okay, nothing special but Spa was absolutely wonderful!!”

Firstly, the hotel is in the very expensive range. I was taking my fiancee away for a special treat before our wedding and it seemed to tick all the boxes. When we arrived, the hotel is situated in a fantastic location, looking out on to a golf course and the sea. As I had requested a special room due to our impending wedding, I was disappointed with the room. It was quite small, in fact the bathroom was bigger than the actual bedroom. We had no seaview either which was disappointing. We booked in for dinner, quite pricey. The quality of the food was fine but to be honest I've had much better steaks elsewhere for less money. Service was fantastic with a lovely lady who smiled constantly and couldn't do enough for us. By the way, the bread served is to die for so order plenty and the olive oil/balsamic vinegar combination is a real winner!! Actually, enjoyed the bread more than the main courses. Breakfast was buffet style, apart from the cooked breakfast which was tasty and set us up for the day. After a run on the beautiful beach nearby, we headed back to the Spa for the remainder of the day. The price for a full day with 2 treatments was very reasonable and we both agreed it was one of our best spa experiences from the small number we had previously tried. The jacuzzi pool is out of this world, half-indoor and half-outdoor!! So, all in all a lovely experience but could do with lowering their room rates as the room we had was quite dated and not very big!!

“Nice place”

Nice hotel with great facilities. The walk into town seems a little further than I was led to believe and the access to the bath and shower could have been better, but overall we did enjoy our stay.

“Excellent Hotel”

Stayed here for 2 nights and found the hotel very good. Room had a 4 poster bed and a great view over the golf course to the sea and was a good size. The hotel was very quiet although it was reasonably busy. Ate both nights in the bar and found the food was good and cheaper than the restaurant. Town centre just a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Staff were all very friendly and polite.

“Great hotel but some problems with service.”

It is a great hotel but there were problems at registration upon arriving. Also, the TV didn't work and it took quite a bit of cajoling to get it fixed satisfactorily. The location can't be beat!
