“Hidden gem in Edinburgh”

Great - and quiet - location near the Scottish Parliament and Palace of Holyroodhouse; helpful staff - even at 5am in the morning when I had to check out for my flight. Good room

“Great New Year”

Decided on spur of moment to go to Edinburgh at New Year for a couple of days. Got a good deal at the Holyrood Hotel through Expedia. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Stayed room only. Room was clean and well equipped. Hotel is in a fab location - all attractions within easy walking distance. Hotel very quiet at night. Have stayed here before and would not hesitate to go back when we next visit Edinburgh.

“Quietly situated and staff very pleasant”

Enjoyed my stay, the bedroom was of a decent size and the leisure facilities included a swimming pool which was also of a decent size. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I would stay there again.

“Good Day Staff, Very Poor Night Staff”

Typical chain hotel. Very sterile and lacking charachter which is a shame considering it's location and history within Edinburgh. Day staff, porters, receptionist etc were helpful but at night Dr Jekyll stepped in! Night management were unhelpful, beligerant and hostile. When I complained I was referred to "sales and marketing if I didn't like the attitude". With all the expensive extras I would have expecteda higher level of service and respect. Definitely would not recommend this hotel. Note: Hotel states it has parking. They don't tell you until you arrive that you have to pa $40.00 per day for the priviledge of leaving your car there.

“Palace and Parliament”

Great location near the Scottish Parliament, Holyrood Palace and Arthur's Seat. All that you would expect from a hotel, with a few good bars and restaurants, including a Pizza Express, nearby.

“Trip to Edinburgh”

We booked two nights in November (Sun & Mon) at a great rate. The hotel is well situated, very close to the new parliament, and we were pleased: clean, comfortable, friendly staff. Although we booked room-only, we chose to eat in the restaurant. Very good early evening menu & breakfast was excellent value for £10 each. No complaints.

“Hotel in the old town near the Scottish Parliament”

Great location near Holyrood and the Scottish Parliament. Staff very friendly and the room had a view of the Parliament building. Gym and pool in the basement. Car parking very expensive, (compared to Glasgow) but that seems to be an Edinburgh thing.

“Overall Good Hotel”

Second time staying at the Holyrood. Great location great rooms. The staff as always are very helpful, special mention to the concierge Bill. Always with a smile and always ready to help. Just 1 draw back. The Restuarant they give you 5 star service why trying to serve you 3 star pub food. They need a better menu more choice then all would be good.
