“A little remote from Rosslyn”

Not that close to Rosslyn chapel, but it was a nice facility.

“lovel personal touches”

The hotel had such a personal and friendly feel. There was two staff on the evening we arrrived , we were asked if I wanted coffee, tea etc, a very nice touch considering we had travelled 4hrs. I decided to eat in very well price and was pleasenty supprised when i was given a compliementary glass of wine with me meal. All cooked to order, I asked vegetable with me meal which was not a problem nor to any extra cost. It was a very personal touch. The room was lovely with aduate space in the room. The only down side was the free view box was on the floor so had to angle to remote towards the bathroom to change channels, and when i pulled the bathroom blind down to take a shower the whole thing fell. Apart from them minor glitches a lovely stay and excellent food.

“A charming little place.”

When I booked this hotel, I did not see any other reviews, so I did not know what to expect. The place was beautiful, though, and I was very happy with the area. It was a 45 minute bus ride to Edinburgh, but it was definitely worth it to stay a little farther out.

Traveller's tip
You might want to rent a car if possible, as the mansion is a pretty lengthy walk from the bus stop.

“KIRKHILL MANSION ARNISTON”

B and B introuvable ! la pancarte indiquant l 'accès est après le chemin qui est impraticable , boueux avec des ornières ( en moto pas facile ) aspect général : triste, accueil tres mitigé,je ne recommande pas cet hotel . petit détail supplémentaire:la télé n a jamais fonctionné.

“Traumhafte Lage - leicht angemoderte Romantik”

Kirkhill Mansions ist ein leicht herunter gekommenes Herrenhaus, das von Edinburgh aus mit ca. 50 Min. Busfahrt und 20 Min. Fußmarsch zu erreichen ist. Wunderschöne, einsame Lage, umgeben von grüner Wildnis, nette Betreiber, deren Englisch zum Teil noch etwas dürftig ist, wunderbarer Salon und Speisesaal, schöne Zimmer (auch wenn ich mir einen Nachttisch samt Lämpchen gewünscht hätte), sSauberkeit der Küche etwas fragwürdig, aber sehr gutes englisches Frühstück, lockere, großzügige Atmosphäre.Trotz kleiner Mängel würde ich jederzeit wieder mit Begeisterung dort übernachten oder länger bleiben!

“Tolles Hotel, nah an Edinburgh”

Das Hotel liegt in einem kleinen Wald und ist über einen Schotterweg zu erreichen. Das Gebäude selbst stammt aus dem 18. Jahrhundert, dementsprechend darf man keinen Super-Luxus,gerade Wände oder hochmoderne Toiletten-Anlagen erwarten. Aber das Haus hat absolut Charme, die Betreiber sind sehr freundlich und sehr bemüht. Uns hat es in den 3 Übernachtungen jedenfalls sehr gut gefallen. Das Frühstück war üppig und wurde nach unseren Wünschen zubereitet. Sehr empfehlenswert! Sehr günstig liegt eine Bushaltestelle, von der aus man Edinburgh sehr gut erreichen kann.

Getting there
Er gaan vanuit het centrum van Edinburgh bussen 3a en 29. Die stoppen bij Gorebridge Main Street. Het is dan wel nog ruim een kwartier lopen naar het hotel.' Als het donker is, is dit vooralsnog lastig, want er is geen belichting vanaf de A7 bij Arnistion tot het eind van het voetpad bij het hotel. Hopelijk gaan ze dat snel aanpassen. Met de auto is dat overigens goed te doen met groot licht. Met de auto is het langs de A7 bij Arnistion. Het hotel wordt aangegeven met een bord.
Dining
Je kunt tussen 17 en 20 dineren in het hotel. Maken ze speciaal voor je klaar, ook al ben je de enige die om die bepaalde tijd wilt eten. Het eten is erg goed.
