“couldnt be better”
right in the heart of the city, seconds from princes street and the royal mile, this clean friendly hotel is a must for edinburgh sightseers, cannot think of anything negative to say about the hotel,it was great
“Faultless”
Good Hotel, EXTREMELY helpful staff, comfortable rooms (although we were given a twin room even though we'd booked a double - but it's not the end of the world). Lovely breakfasts easily arranged as we were booked on a room only basis. Missed a mini bar. Highly recommend. Well done to all staff. Very impressed.
“Cozy and centraly located hotel”
The Thistle Edinburgh is quite cozy with well-decorated rooms and an attentive and friendly staff. You have front door access to the shops and restaurants on Leith and Princes streets. Old Town is just a short walk away across the North Bridge, but then of course everything in Edinburgh is just a short walk away. Be aware that the front rooms facing Leith street will be quite noisy on Friday and Saturday night until around 3am, due to the nearby pubs. The staff will warn you of this though. My wife and I had a wonderful 9-day stay here, with only a small bit of first day room confusion that was quickly corrected once brought to the staff's attention. We would absolutely consider rebooking at the Thistle Edinburgh for a future visit.
“Great Hotel in Edinburgh”
We arrived very early at the hotel (9.30 am), not only did we receive a very warm welcome but our room was ready! We had a double room which was very quiet and comfortable as requested. The staff were always very friendly and welcoming and the room was well stocked with toiletries, biscuits and drinks. The location is great, just on the corner of leith St and Princes street. There is also an entrance in the shopping centre next door. I would use this hotel again and recommend it to others.
“Few surprises”
A hotel of this star rating should be able to have your room cleaned before 5 p.m. Our room was cleaned only once in the four days we were here. Prices should also include free wifi. The daily charge for 24 hour consecutive hours is insane. Many other hotels of this caliber also offer free breakfast.
“Great Hotel”
Was only there for one night, but I enjoyed my stay. Most importantly, at least in my opinion, the room was clean!!! The bed was comfortable and the staff were nice.
“A very good value for London's Central Area”
The rooms are extremely small but the bathroom is excellent! There was a beautiful view of Edinburgh Castle from my window. There was a rather large shopping mall that was connected to the hotel with many nice shops, as well as small cafes and pubs within walking distance. It was easy to get wherever you needed to go either by foot or taxi. The staff were always extremely helpful and friendly.
“Can't wait to go back!”
My first impression of my room was 'warm and cosy and safe'. As a lone single female traveller, it was just the ticket. My trip was for only a day and a half or extreme sightseeing, and so its perfect location and feeling of sancutary fitted my trip exactly. I did'nt experience the restuarant or breakfast services, so I've something else to review next time!
“Very comfortable and convenient for city centre”
Staff pleasant and welcoming, hotel central for city visit and buses further out. Bed large and comfortable, bathroom very clean. Bit of a problem with one electrical socket.
“Excellent location”
We had booked a double room only to be advised at check-in that there were no double rooms left, and would we accept a suite?!! Excellent facilities, and the location is ideal for Edinburgh City Center. Highly recommended.
