My wife and i arrived before check-in at 3pm, however we offered safe storage of our bags and use of the facilities so we could freely walkabout in Edinburgh. Front desk and restaurant staff were very accommodating.

The room was tiny, the bathroom was small and the quality of the bathroom was what would be called “the head” on a small boat. This was completely a no frills hotel for a price that was too high for what was offered. The online listing was misleading. Exceptionally disappointed!!

First time staying at this hotel chain. It felt sort of like a dorm room, the bathroom was cool but weird. Sort of like a fancy airplane bathroom...hard to explain, but it was fine. Suited the purpose. Functioanl, clean. Would stay again

It was nice having a restaurant in the hotel. Our room was not the greatest. They gave us a handicap room which I did not ask for. When I went downstairs to tell them they said it was ok they had other handicap rooms available and did not offer to change our room. No carpet in the room, very cold room, and the sink in the bathroom was so low it hurt your back to bend over to use it. Was not happy with this room.

The staff were friendly & accommodating. The room was basic but it offered teas etc & a hairdryer. We were on the 9th floor & was still kept awake by the loud music.

This is a very basic hotel with few comforts in the bedroom. But central and fine for a stay when you won't be spending much time in the hotel. Wide range of choices for breakfast

im disabled and travelling on my own. the staff couldnt have been any nicer. i use a walker and doors were held over for me. so delighted with the a meals and restfull time

A 10 minute walk from Waverly Station and convenient for all attractions, most within walking distance. Friendly helpful staff, comfortable rooms with toiletries, kettle and hospitality tray.

Great location and very walkable to Royal Mile, lots of dining options nearby. Stayed 4 nights and unfortunately housekeeping only cleaned our room once even after we would ask. The bathroom is tiny, but the room was a good size. Because of housekeeping will probably not stay here again.

The heating did not work so they brought in a space heater. The room backed on to a bar with music and some drunk patrons. Once that closed down two gentlemen in the next room decided to come in at 3:45 am. They walked down the hall speaking loudly. This continued in their room. The wall do not appear to have acoustic barriers. I finally knocked on their door to ask them to keep their voices down. Very disappointing. We will not go there again.

The Ibis Hotel Edinburgh stay
The stay was fine and staff were friendly. Well situated for everything we wanted. As we stayed for a few days over the New year celebrations, I was expecting to be kept awake by lots of noise, this wa not so. The only time I heard noise was music playing into the early hours of the night for celebrating the New year in which was expected. Over the rest of the stay all was great and slept extremely well. The breakfast was very good and we enjoyed our stay very much.

Reasonably central location for train station. Good pubs and restaurants within walking distance. Shower bathroom POD was adequate. Bedroom very basic but no plugs near bedside to charge devices being used.

Edinburgh as usual is great but wouldn’t stay in that hotel again. The rooms were functional but that’s about it. Felt like I was staying in a clinical space port it just wasn’t very homely. We had to change rooms because the shower was full of hairs. Staff on reception not very friendly no, Hello, goodbye, did you enjoy your stay?? Nothing like that very robotic. Need friendly front of house staff I felt.

Overall good stay
Great location and staff were welcoming and friendly. Curtains were dirty but as we were there for only one night we didn’t bother saying. Good size room and value for money.bed was comfortable and we had extra pillows.
