“An amazing hotel in the heart of Edinburghs Old Town”
The hotel is great, living up to the quirky designer brand of Missoni. The staff throughout the hotel were spot on from the impressive Kilt waring Doorman, to Reception, through to the Restaurant staff.
Room was really well presented, Nespresso Coffee making facilities and complementary mini-bar (soft drinks, White & Red Wine and Lager) was a nice touch. Free Wi-fi in room and throughout hotel, as well as free in-room movies.
All furnishings were to a high standard, maid and turn-down service all good, with nice views from the 4th floor.
Based on expectation, hotel lived up to what we were looking for.
Area recommendations
Grass Market - really good highstreet with great local shops, especialy Vintage shops, as well as some really good restaurants
Getting there
From Edinburgh Airport, would recomend a cab - £18 - 20 one way. Great value, and with the right cabbie (which we had), we got the run down on all the Restaurants worth tyring.
You can get a bus for around half the price (£10.00), its a good 10-15min walk though from drop off to hotel.
Dining
Make sure you book reservations to Ondine - it's a fantastic fish restaurant with with an amazing Chef / Owner! We saw a write up in BBC's Olive magazine and it lived up to the review. Service was spot on, the food even better. Just brilliant...
