Perfect choice for a family...

WE have 2 kids and we had trouble finding hotel rooms in the UK to hold all 4 of us. THis was perfect and it gave us plenty of room to spread out and relax, watch TV (they rent DVDs for 1 GBP per night), and have a snack or breakfast. THere is a full kitchen and a W/D for laundry. It was pricey because of the Fringe but we expected that. Overall it was a great choice for us and very close to everything.

A jewel on the royal mile in Edinburgh

We stayed at the Hollyrood Aparthotel for our 5 days in Scotland. It was a perfect location, right off of the Royal Mile, easy to get to, even a Starbucks within a block. The staff was friendly and helpful. Maids were very efficient, and the hotel was in good shape and very clean. Free internet provided on a PC with printer by the desk, which is good by European standards. Definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Neighbourhood recommendations: This is on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, which is the best place to stay. Easy walking distance to Edinburgh Castle, the Queen's palace, the national monument (the national disgrace, as the locals call it!), Arthur's Seat, restaurants, churchs, underground, shops, and all the action.

Wouldn't stay anywhere else!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Holyrood Aparthotel. We were very surprised at the layout. Yes, there are doors to every room that do not stay open, but we wedged a flip flop under and it made it much more open. The convenience of having separate bathrooms (we traveled with two kids 16, 10) was a huge plus! No A/C, but you really don't need it. Keep the windows open and enjoy the fresh air. Location was great. The weather was nice and we enjoyed the walk. Only about 20 mins to the city center, 5 mins to Holyrood Palace and Arthur's Seat (which was amzing by the way), and Starbucks about 2 mins. The young girl who worked the desk (can't remeber her name but she had short blonde hair) was extremely nice. She came up to show us how to use our washer/dryer and was always there to answer questions. If we go back to Edinburgh, we will only stay at the Holyrood. Thanks for providing such great service and making our trip so pleasant!

Family Friendly Activities: Cadies Witchery Tour was so much fun! A must do! Skip the Loch Ness experience. Waste of time and money!
