Pros: Convenience for public transport; location excellent
Cons: Staff are excellent; very helpful & friendly.Rooms however are very tierd & shabby; we had smear of blood on bathroom door!!
Location: Next door to zoo; 20mins walk from Murrayfield & bus ride into city centre & airport
Lovely weekend in this hotel. Edinburgh is a wonderful & friendly city. Hotel, location-wise is excellent for zoo & public transport into city & airport. Hotel however is tierd & shabby; rooms are small ; our room was very clean apart from a smear of blood on bathroom door!! Our cleaner happily cleaned it off though when we told him about it. Overall I would reccommend this hotel as location is wonderful & the staff are really friendly & helpful but it could do with an up-date.

Excellent all round!

Posted 11-Mar-2015
Pros: Location is perfect, Gym is great, price is good, breakfast excellent.. Very good all round!
Cons: Receptionists could smile a bit more? Very serious... kind, friendly, helpful... but serious.. smile!!!!
Location: Perfect for Rugby at Murrayfield. Zoo next door. BUt basically, the whole City is on your doorstep, the door being the bus stop in front of the Hotel
Well, what else can one hope for? In town for a rugby match, a short distance away, I easily arrived at the hotel, parked my car in the available, free of charge car park and forgot about it for three days... in fact there is a bus stop in front of the hotel and all buses take you into the city centre, perfect, in a matter of minutes. I checked in quickly and settled in my clean and comfortable room, changed and made use of the excellent gym and training facilities available, free of charge. I slept well, and enjoyed a complete, wide choice breakfast, well cooked and presented. I walked across the road (well, almost) to Murrayfield, and back, to catch the bus into town. On a rugby weekend, you would expect massively inflated prices... but no, price was extremely reasonable, and excellent price / quality / location / service ratio. I really, seriously enjoyed it and yes, I guess my team winning the match also helped... My first choice when next in Edinburgh

Overnight stay

Posted 22-Feb-2015
The hotel and facilities were as you would expect. The staff were well informed and courteous. The room was small and the bed was tight against the wall. We were only staying overnight so it didn't matter to us. The Room was clean and had a lovely view.

1 night leisure stay in Edinburgh to visit the zoo

Posted 05-Feb-2015
Pros: location to the zoo, staff friendly and helpful
Cons: room size was a bit small
Location: perfect to visit Edinburgh zoo, 1 minute walk to the entrance , 5 minutes from the airport, good stopover hotel if connecting to onward flight
rate was really good for the hotel including breakfast and parking arrived at 1030 am and the room was ready so the reception girl let us straight in to relax room and bathroom was quite small and cramped for 2 people but over all clean and comfortable used the pool and steam room in the health club , good facilities

Reasonable hotel close to Murrayfield hospital.

Posted 28-Jan-2015
The hotel and the room were clean. Staff were very helpful and attentive. On the down side, it doesn't qualify as a 4 stars hotel in my opinion at least with our standards in Egypt. Rooms need some renovation and upgrading. For example there is no minibar in the room. The furniture is out of style. Breakfast is nice and reasonable.

Handy for the zoo

The food was a little disappointing but it was buffet style - ordering from the menu would be much better

1 night stay with a friend, we just had a night to relax and chill out, we were provided with bathrobes to go back and forward to swimming pool which was great, after a morning swim we then went for breakfast which was amazing. staff were very pleasant and helpful. absolutely cannot fault this hotel.
