Good value hotel. Rooms looking a bit tired these days and restaurant staff could do with a lesson in noticing their customers want their attention a bit quicker, but convenient for Zoo, great pool and jacuzzi, and not far from airport.

Hotel very convenient for travel by bus.

Posted 11-May-2015
Pros: It's convenient location. Beds were comfortable and everything was spotless.
Cons: I would have liked to have had access to an ice machine. We were however able to get ice from the bar.
Location: As already stated the location is a big plus. Not having a car with us the easy access to public transport.
My sister and I were flying early in the morning from Edinburgh airport so decided to stay overnight in an Edinburgh hotel. The Holiday Inn at the zoo was in a great location for travelling into the town centre in the evening and equally great for crossing the road and getting the airport bus to the airport in the morning.

Good hotel next to the zoo.

Posted 07-May-2015
Pros: Indoor pool.wifi
Cons: Wifi cost could be lowered.
Location: Location good for zoo visits, car parking if travelling by car and frequent buses to and from the city centre.
Disappointed that wifi was not free. Pool was great. Bar food good . Bus stop right outside the hotel and frequent buses to the city centre.

Location ok

Posted 04-May-2015
The family room we had was a regular sized room with 2 extra beds crammed in! The bathroom was dated and the tea tray didn't have enough mugs etc. although I'm sure the room had been cleaned, I'm not sure how well as there were childrens sticker sheets under the bed! Breakfast was ok, black pudding was horrible and bacon tasteless, but rest ok. Check in nice and quick, staff friendly enough Overall just an average experience, bit worth the money!

Convenient position to explore Edinburgh.

Posted 27-Apr-2015
Pros: On outskirts of Edinburgh, so very quiet. Lovely big car park, bus stop right outside the hotel, so leave your car and catch a bus into Edinburgh.
Cons: Bedding, duvet too small and not even a top sheet, also tea/coffee tray selection was sparse.
Location: Zoo right next door, catch the bus into the city to visit, Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood House, Royal Yacht and loads of other attractions.
Good selection for breakfast. Evening meal was expensive, carvery ok but a sweet consisted of cake!

Pros: Convenience for public transport; location excellent
Cons: Staff are excellent; very helpful & friendly.Rooms however are very tierd & shabby; we had smear of blood on bathroom door!!
Location: Next door to zoo; 20mins walk from Murrayfield & bus ride into city centre & airport
Lovely weekend in this hotel. Edinburgh is a wonderful & friendly city. Hotel, location-wise is excellent for zoo & public transport into city & airport. Hotel however is tierd & shabby; rooms are small ; our room was very clean apart from a smear of blood on bathroom door!! Our cleaner happily cleaned it off though when we told him about it. Overall I would reccommend this hotel as location is wonderful & the staff are really friendly & helpful but it could do with an up-date.
