Close to city centre

Posted 20-Jul-2014
Pros: Was clean and the cleaning staff were really helpful.
Cons: The hotel rooms need to be upgraded to reflect 4* and feel the staff need to be more customer focused especially in the hotel trade.
Location: Next door to edinburgh zoo and to public transport but still a good 15 to 20 mins from city centre.
Was ok stay wouldnt class this as a 4* equivalent to travel lodge room. Went for a coffee in their coffee shop and girl was rude said i will come to you when im ready!!

Weekend in Scotland.

Posted 13-Jul-2014
Pros: Friendly staff.
Cons: A need for fridge in the rooms. It's not fair to come down every time you need cold water as room service will cost me more. Restocking of rooms.
Location: Excellent, not noisy but easy access to the city centre. The zoo.
Was nice, spent most of time out of hotel. Did not like charging cash machine.

Suited it's purpose

Posted 21-Jun-2014
Location was great and staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was quite basic and could have been cleaner- hair in bath and stained carpet. Breakfast was good and kids eat free is a bonus. The evening carvery was average though. This hotel suited our purpose for 2 nights but felt it was overpriced.

good hotel, well placed for airport and city .

Posted 10-Jun-2014
Pros: the comfortable rooms the helpful polite staff and the good food.
Cons: we were happy with everything
Location: very close to the zoo and murrayfield and other useful places
we found it very convenient for buses in and out of the city and out to the airport. It also provided us with everything we required. We enjoyed our stay and will use the hotel again.

Stay at Holiday Inn

Posted 03-Jun-2014
Bonus was the hotel is next to the zoo, which probably is the only sight seeing place away from city center Family rooms were large and comfy.. with helpful staff.. The only downside was that while the towels got changed the next day. beds were not made up.. probably an oversight or something the hotel does not do . unless specifically requested for.. If you have a large car do not park near the reception as the car roof may scrape the parking slot.. one level below the parking is better

Nice basic hotel perfect after day at the zoo

Posted 02-Jun-2014
Hotel was everything I expected from holiday inn. Basic yet comfortable and clean. We chose to stay at that hotel because of the free parking for the zoo, parking here was much easier than expected with little worry about leaving car there all day. Oriental restaurant in hotel served lovely food with both meals ordered being of high quality even though glasses originally on the table were dirty but clean replacements were easily requested. Choice of drinks on offer in the bar was also very good. Would recommend hotel to other people definitely.

Convenient hotel next to Edinburgh Zoo

Posted 26-May-2014
Pros: The waiting staff were all very friendly, helpful and went out of their way to help us.
Cons: There were renovations in the bar/restaurant area which was intrusively noisy but they didn't work in the evening.
Location: Location good and on local bus routes into the centre of the city. Next door to the zoo and pandas.
We were three ladies on a road trip to Scotland - Edinburgh was our second stop. We shared a room which was large enough for 3 and comfy, the beds were soft and we were warm (one lady is from Brazil so feels the cold). We overlooked the Zoo and there was plenty of free parking while we were there. The bedroom and bathroom was clean and the chamber-person was very polite.
