Great little apartment, clean and comfortable.

Stayed here overnight whilst visiting Edinburgh for a friends 40th birthday party. Clean, comfortable and competitive compared to the far inferior Travellodge type places. One tiny criticisms (and it is tiny!) - the loud ticking clock on the wall in room 102 (we banished it to the bathroom for the night) Would loved to have stayed a few days and really made the most of it. Perhaps I'll come back for the festival.

Great place for a family with an infant

Posted 14-Sep-2014 on Hotels.com
We really liked the hotel, and reception was very helpful! The rest of our family stayed at regular hotels in the old city but it really wasn't that far to get to them, maybe 15 min walk to the Royal Mile. And well worth the extra room we got, especially since we had an infant with us.

Not exactly as advertised!

Posted 07-Sep-2014 on Hotels.com
We were given a "first-floor" room except it required 3 flights of stairs! Not great when you have several suitcases! There was an odour of greasy cooking that lingered in the hallways during our 3-day stay - not entirely pleasant! The room was dated but more importantly there was no evidence of housekeeping service (clean towels, garbage removal, sink cleaning) during our 3-day stay. The worst part was that we had almost depleted the bathroom tissue and when we asked the person on the desk, they promised to replenish it but did not - we had to actually go to the desk and were given ONE roll!!! Really not acceptable! Would never stay there again and would recommend that others avoid it!! Pictures on website do not reflect our experience!

Week in Edinburgh

Posted 28-Aug-2014
Pros: Location within Edinburgh.
Cons: Hot water service in rooms. Housekeeping and provisions within the kitchenette. Some of the staff but others were good.
Initial experience with the hot water system was my wife nearly got scalded . Placed call for maintenance to help with adjustment and initially advised he would be at our room in 30 min. He didn't turn up so we rang reception again only to be told he had gone home for the day. Maintenance arrived only to advise that the hot water setting was on the highest setting. During our week stay, water pressure and temperature were on going issues. Rubbish bin in kitchen was not emptied during our week stay had to request house keeping for fresh towels after 3 days as they were not changed daily. Beds uncomfortable, hard pillows.

Beautiful accommodations

Posted 27-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
The living quarters and room were spotless and decor/furniture was great. If you were going to stay here for a week and cook, you might need some cleaning supplies such as a dishrag/soap/sponge, etc. Sometimes check-in and be a bit slow. Other than that, amazing location, quiet room, comfortable bed, great wifi. Highly recommended.

Nice room

Nice location and clean room. However I got a 2 double room while I reserved a twin+double room, which upsets me a bit.

Outstanding last-minute booking

Posted 18-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
I needed a room for a last-minute business trip to Edinburgh which, during Festival period, I expected to be a very difficult task. Thankfully, Blue Rainbow had an apartment available and at an excellent price. And what a lovely place, very close to St Andrew square but with little noise from the busy Queen St. I shall definitely check their availability for any future trips to Edinburgh.

Central Location and Good Value

Posted 13-Aug-2014
Pros: location, amenities, staff, value
We only spent two nights in Edinburgh, but were glad we chose this place. The rooms are actually small apartments, complete with a separate kitchenette and lounge area. There is even free laundry facilities on-site. The hotel is centrally located, so we found it easy to walk to all attractions.
