“Good location”
The apartment is very close to the castle. And if you are arriving from the Waverly Station, you can easily catch a direct Bus 34, 35 or 1 to the apartment.
“Very impressed”
Very happy with our choice. Good location and hotel really knew how to look after the customer. Milk and bread on arrival. Ongoing supply of tea and coffee. Apartment spacious with good quality and quantity of kitchen equipment. Will definitely go back next time go to Edinburgh.
“Fantastic Edinburgh”
I stayed in a one bedroom apartment on Grove Street itself. The other apartments were on Morrison Street and overlooking the canal on the otherside of Fountainbridge. I found the hotel reception staff always helpful and everything was clean, the apartment was checked and cleaned daily, towels would be replaced daily if you left them in the shower. I had noted on other feedback that the apartments were noisy at night, I did not find this but the bedroom did back onto the car park. Modern apartment well stocked in the kitchen ie for cooking etc.
“Excellent family lodging”
The Fountain Court Apartments on Grove Street in Edinburgh were perfect... we are a family of 4, and we were very comfortable in a two bedroom suite with a double bed in one room and two twins in the other. The living room and kitchen areas were typically small but adequate, the bathroom was good sized, and the entire apartment was immaculate. A stock of milk, bread, and jams in the fridge, as well as coffee and tea, was a very nice touch, and the kitchen even contains an al- in-one washer-dryer for laundry. The apartments are within walking distance of the Royal Mile, and taxis are very responsive and inexpensive... about 5 pounds to get to the castle, for example. Overall, the apartment was very comfortable and provided easy access to everywhere we wanted to go. Highly recommended!
“Fountain court”
I would recommend this hotel to anyone. the room is excellent with plenty of space. we opted for a one bedroon apartment which had a double bed with plenty of hanging space. a 'living room' with settee, dining table & TV. The kitchen had plates, pans, knives forks etc, microwave, fridge, washing machine. they also kindly supply milk, tes, coffee, butter jam and cereal Fountain court is approx 15 minutes walk to princess st but the bus stop is 20 seconds away and runs into town every 15 minutes, highly recommended
“Great if you want to cater for yourself”
I have specific dietary requirements so breakfasts especially are difficult for me in B&B hotels. This gave me the freedom to cater for myself (or eat out) in a very comfortable environment. I arrived after the reception had closed but details given to me before arrival by the staff ensured I was able to gain entry to my apartment effortlessly but securely. A very friendly and comfortable place to stay!
“Definately going back”
This property of apartments was impressive. Not only was it extremely clean & new, but the experience of staying in an actual apartment vs. a hotel helped us to feel so much more like actual natives instead of tourists. This experience surpassed our expectations so much that we now look for apartment properties instead of hotels
“Very convenient”
Excellent location with the Castle being only 10mins walk away. The one bedroom apartment was large, with a dining/lounge of 9' by 15', free cable TV, kitchen with all amenities and reasonable size bedroom. The outside street was slightly noisy at night although you could not hear anything from the bedroom.
“Great facility for a great price”
I was very pleased with getting a small apartment located 10 minutes walking from the castle for a price cheaper than many of the hotels in the area. A separate kitchen, living room, and bedroom with a washer/dryer, and satellite/cable TV! I would highly recommend and will stay here again on my next visit to Edinburgh.
“A great option to the traditional hotel”
Tired of the hotel feeling when you are traveling, then is is a great option that gives that home-away-from-home feeling. Compared to US size, the unit is a little small, but provides at-home comforts and room that you would not get in a hotel for a comparable price. Having a full kitchen can really help keep down costs and allow for some relaxing time after a long day of sightseeing. The washer/dryer combination was a plus in the middle of a multi-week trip, but do not expect the task to be a quick one. Most combination units in Europe dry with cold water, so if you have a load of more than 2-3 garments, you may find it faster to air dry for a couple of hours and then finish in the combination dryer.
