“Good for the price”

If you are looking to be near Grassmarket and don't want to spend a lot of money then this is the place. The room was small but clean. The bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and the free breakfast was excellent. I would not stay here if I brought children because of the attached nightclub but for adults it is fine. The noise from the adjacent bar was only bad on Saturday (until 1:30AM) but if you stay are planning on staying out late it will not bother you.

“pleasantly surpised”

As it was our first trip to Edinburgh we searched around for a cheap hotel that was close to everything we wanted to see and we were not disappointed! In walking distance to most places and only a short taxi ride to the airport. The staff were friendly and allowed us to check in as soon as we arrived, when we expected a good 3 hour wait. Clean towels everyday, as much tea and coffee as we wanted and a complimentary cooked breakfast every morning. On a budget, we couldn't have asked for more!

“Very good and easy to get from and to”

I stayed for 3 nights. I liked the relativeky spacious bathroom compared with other B&B hotels. It was a user frienly hotel where the staff were always smiling and offering help. They don't have porters or bell boys. If you need something from the reception you will have to go get it yourself. That was fine with me.

“nice place”

this hotel was fairly nice and the staff was very friendly. there is no a/c like most hotels in europe and the uk. the three sisters pub connected to the hotel is a very popular edinburgh night spot.

“Much much better than previous reviews led me to expect!”

Maybe it was because it was January, or because we were on 2nd and 3rd floor, but we had no problems with noise at all, but we were able to take advantage of the friendly and lively 3 Sisters Bar. The hotel is wonderfully situated for all the sights of the Old Town. The breakfast was good and the staff were very friendly. Would recommend it to anyone and would go back again.

“Excellent value for money”

Hotel could do with a lick of paint and some attention but this is true of many dearer hotels. For the price, we were well satisfied. Note that we recommend people are careful about the rooms allocated if they are light sleepers or have young children - when there are late TV and sport nights planned for the adjacent Pub, the nearest rooms are noisy.

“Not bad for a cheap stay”

This hotel is located perfectly for those wishing to do a walking tour through Edinburgh. Hotel staff was very nice, breakfast was good, room comforts could use a little work (very lumpy bed). But if you are looking for an inexpensive way to see the city and stay close by to many attractions, this is the way to go. In-hotel bar is very "student" and loud on some days, so if you are a light sleeper, skip this hotel.

“central location”

Booked the hotel as a budget b/b but discovered it was better than budget. Single room reserved but on arrival upgraded to double room .Rooms very warm and comfortable, clean and tidy.Nice toiletries supplied as well as tea/coffee and biscuits and 2 bottles of water. Breakfast buffet with good choices. Will stay again and recommend.

“Not as bad as the Americans make on.”

Don't get me wrong, this ain't no 5 star hotel, but some of the reviews of this hotel had me really sceptical about staying here. Having now stayed there I can tell you that it ain't bad at all and is a pretty standard 3 star hotel. You can get better value for money at hotels further out of town, but this hotel has the right to charge a little more than those, as it has an absolutley prime location right in the middle of Edinburgh's old town. All the bars, restaurants and tourist attractions are a short stroll from the front door. This hotel is a base to explore Edinburgh from, it's not a hotel to relax by the pool in. I recommend this hotel to anyone that isn't grumpy.

“amie and matts big adventure”

we really liked the hotel. it is basic but its clean and the staff were really friendly. it was also in a great central position as we didn't have a car and found it more than easy to walk to all places of interest.
