“Nice hotel”
Excelent hotel if one is travelling by car because its location is a bit far from the city centre. Nice free parking! The room is very nice, excelent bed, everything was very clean. The shower is very small and bad because the water flow was very week. Poor breakfast, no fresh fruits, no fresh juice. Everyday the same thing, even on Easter they did no make anything special.
“We'll stay there again next visit.”
This hotel was very well run and comfortable except for the inside air temperature. The hotel restaurant's food was superb; the outside views were gorgeous. We just happened to be there on a very warm day in July with no AC except in the lobby.
“Not as convenient to airport as I would have liked.”
Hotel was clean and adequate for a one night stay prior to a flight.
“Would go back , quite a nice area.”
Nice clean comfortable hotel, complimentry drinks on arrival nice touch. Staff very helpful, Telephoned a taxi to take us into the town centre, staff very pleasant, would book this hotel again.
“great value in Edinburgh”
This hotel was comfortable and well appointed, staff were friendly and helpful. The swimming pool facility is quite nice. Location is not ideal - somewhat out of the way - but it is well situated for access to the airport, and walking trails, and there is excellent bus service to downtown and airport.
“Comfort away from the city”
Hotel is placed in suburbs of Edinburgh, but there was a frequent bus service every 10 mins from a nearby bus station. The common area was clean and rooms were old fashioned but reasonably relaxing.
“Good value, would stay again”
there was a warm welcome, friendly check in. The pool and spa was average, could do with a make over and a jacuzzi. It was relaxing in the sauna and steam room, and the pool was good. The buses into the centre were amazing, every 7-10 mins until late. The food in the resturant was good, We would have liked some music as we ate though. We found the beds in the room uncomfortable, and you could here people walking up and down the hall, Which woke me up a few times. We got a really good deal for this hotel, and if we could get it at the same price then i would definatly stay again.
“Met our requirements”
Hotel was OK, restaurant a bit on the pricey side. Room was comfortable, attached spa was very well equipped but we didn't use it, should have brought a swim suit. Hotel must be popular, it was full for the 3 days we were there. The large number of guests did put a strain on the breakfast buffet as they ran out of items frequently. But their morning coffee was excellent with a fine multi-function cappucino maker. 5 minute walk to a local pub (probably not recommended based on the lads hanging about outside), but also close to a Co-op store for snacks etc. If you are coming to visit Edinburgh attractions it is a 20 minute drive or a 30 minute bus ride to the Castle.
“A good bargain!”
Went for three nights (first time to Edinburgh) for my girlfriend's birthday in January. Managed to get a cracking special deal online - that was how we ended up choosing this hotel. Very modern and clean room which was really quite large! Nice flat screen TV, good bed, and even a little lounge area. No problems with bathroom or any other amenities. A nice, albeit tiny gym + pool + sauna which guests are free to use. Restaurant was better than expected, with very good service. Only downside was upon arrival we wanted to get a bite to eat, or maybe even just a drink but the bar staff dismissed us in a rude way. We did leave a comment when leaving and the hotel manager responded to us sincerely and said this would be addressed so we were pleased about that. Location wise it's actually pretty good. Free parking (one of our needs) at the hotel, and a convenient bus into town is just round the corner. Bus takes about 20-30 minutes I'd say, but I'll be honest I never really timed it! Just watch out when coming back after a night out, they only run about once an hour after 1am. Bus ride into town meant we actually probably saw a bit more than we would have if we'd stayed somewhere totally central. Would I go here again? If there was another similar deal on, absolutely. A very nice place to explore the beautiful city from!
“Not Bad but Not Terrific”
The hotel is a bit detached from the city, infact its even in another suburb. However, they have a train line #26 that conveniently runs right into the heart of Edinburgh. Also, the area of the hotel is on the top of a hill with a nature preserve adjacent, and I found it to be incredibly peaceful and scenic. They have a gym which you have to pay additional for but I was pleased to put on my running sneakers and jog the beautiful outdoors. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, and even recommended a great local golf course I was able to play the following day. As far as the rooms, the walls are thin, and they only had two single beds, which annoyed me some. On the bright side, this made the room rather spacious by European standards. So, I would recommend, but only if you're ok with being detahced from the city centre.
