“nice hotel but wouldn't go back.”

Very good hotel overall, however, bathroom needed maintainance, on / off handle for shower got stuck on off position. porter came to fix it and when he couldn't the duty manager came and tried, he implied that someone had interfered with the shower plumbing therefore altering the water flow. he did fix it but next time we went to use it, the same thing happened again, there was also only a trickle of cold water coming from the tap in the bathroom sink. I was not impressed with the implication a guest had done this and on check out I overheard another guest complaining about the plumbing in their room too. On the good side although the hotel is a bit out of Edinburgh there is an excellent bus service right outside the hotel gate and buses run every few minutes. The bistro is quite good to eat in but they mixed up our booking and we had to wait half an hour for a table, then we were served with the wrong order but they did give us the desert for free by way of compensation adn they were very apologetic about it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a nice hotel, with nice friendly staff but would not stay there again.

“Great Location for visiting Edinburgh”

Received upgrade to larger turret room - very nice. Good breakfast, very helpful staff, no problems at all - enjoyed out stay. Location of hotel great for visiting Edinburgh, bus outside goes right to city centre, no need to drive.
