Excellent position

Posted 15-Aug-2014
Pros: Position and comfortable
Cons: Bathroom layout. A large person would not be able to get through door into shower.
Nice breakfast. Good position to city centre, attractions and restaurants. Parking during night outside b&b no problem, but no parking during the day, too expensive. Only issue with room was shower door which had an extremely small opening due to position of toilet.

Wonderful place to stay. Beautiful interior.

Posted 08-Aug-2014
Pros: Location, food, service and staff GREAT!!
Cons: all was terrific
Location: Museum of Modern Art, Royal Mile, Hay Market Train Station, shops, restaurants and pubs.
B B Edinburgh is in a good location to the Castle. The Edinburgh Castle and Royal Mile are about a good 20 to 25 minute walk but you can take your time walking. There are a lot of great places to eat and shop along the walk to the Royal Mile. Take a cab if you are not wanting to walk. Cab fare is about 3 to 4 pounds. The staff at B B Edinburgh are very helpful and can help you plan your day. There is even a wonderful Library and Bar at the B B Edinburgh.

Unique Place to Stay

Posted 26-Jun-2014
Pros: The staff.
Cons: Maybe a fan in room for warm days.
Location: It is a short walk to Prince's street.
This is a unique place to stay. The building has a great, classic feel. You feel like you are part of the neighborhood. The staff was extremely helpful and had great recommendations about the neighborhood. The room was clean and very spacious with a great view. It was a bit warm and stuff but overall I would recommend this hotel.

It is a hidden jewel. Breakfast are fresh made. Room with excellent view, except my room is facing west and temperature was hot. Otherwise, it is a perfect stay.

Beautiful scottish architecture great location

Posted 24-Jun-2014
Pros: Stunning architecture and decor. Close to everything. Amazing views. Friendly staff
Cons: It was very warm when we stayed so the room was really hot and no air conditioning, but the hotel staff did provide us with a fan when we requested.
Location: Everything so close by. 5-10 min walk to princes street and haymarket. 5 min walk to bells brae walkway which takes you on a stunning river walk.
We stayed at B and B Edinburgh for 3 nights in June and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet place to stay, within very short walking distance of all the sights and want to get a feel of the grand architecture Edinburgh is famous for. The building is stunning, set within a grand old town house with a real authenticity and charm. On entering you are greeted by friendly staff with a back drop of a grand ornate staircase. There is lounge, complete with tasteful tartan and dark mahogany furnishings and a bar complete with high back armchairs and fireplace. The most wonderful part is an old library with floor to ceiling books of all genres from old psychology and medical journals to poetry, popular fiction and sport. There are even some old board games to play. Sitting in the library takes you back to times past and on looking out the windows you see the stunning castle and hills of Edinburgh. There is free tea and coffee machine accessible to all guests as well as facilities in the room. Both a cooked and continental breakfast is available. The hotel is literally a 5 minute walk to Princes street right in the city centre and about a 7 min walk from haymarket. Everything from the royal mile and castle to the museums is easily accessible by foot if you are willing to walk for about 20 mins tops. It's all so picturesque it feels like no time at all. Trams, train and buses all very close within 5 mins walk. Would recommend A****

Beautiful building and interior, comfortable room

Posted 12-Jun-2014
Pros: Really appreciated all of the little touches - lovely, fluffy towels, toiletries, free phone, 24/7 tea and coffee or water or squash and snacks.
Location: 5-10 minutes walk from shops & city centre and all of the things to do in Edinburgh. Hotel room has a booklet which tells you local restaurants etc.
Beautiful building and interior. Rooms were clean and comfortable with amazing views. The staff members had 100% professional, polite, friendly manners and they also had a good knowledge for information that we required. Loved the library room where you could sit and read or have a drink. Really appreciated all of the little touches - lovely, fluffy towels, toiletries, free phone, 24/7 tea and coffee or water or squash and snacks. Breakfast was brilliant, loads of choice. They allowed us to leave our luggage at the hotel whilst we enjoyed our last day and organised our taxi to the airport. Very impressed.

Brilliant B&B and brilliant experience.

Posted 09-Jun-2014
Pros: Location, staff, breakfast, room
Cons: We were happy with everything especially the water after a Saturday night out.
Location: The location is great if you need to be close to the Edinburgh Conference Centre and if you don't want to be in old town. Although, old town is great.
Me and my mother stayed at the wonderful 'B&B' this past weekend. Don't be put off by the name as it is more of a boutique hotel than a B&B. Our room was on the fourth / top floor and although it was on the small side there was definitely enough room for the both of us. Also, we were there for the weekend and spent a lot of time site seeing and enjoying the beautiful city. Having a big room wasn't top of our list of priorities. Funnily enough, as the my mum was speaking to the cleaner and she told her that although the room is small, it is her favourite due to the view and its ambience. The 'B&B' is tucked away from the business of old town but close enough to the bars and restaurants of Rose and George Street. The Edinburgh Conference Centre ("ECC") is also a ten minute walk away. So if you need to be at the ECC for any reason, you should definitely stay at the 'B&B'. I really cant speak highly enough of my personal experience of this B&B, the library, the refreshments (free water and tea), the bar, everything. Others may not have had a great time but we certainly did. Final point, the breakfast is champion!

Lovely hotel with friendly and accommodating staff. Great views of the city, great breakfast, and lovely neighborhood that is convenient to all sites yet out of the tourist area.

Beautiful combination of old and modern

Posted 31-May-2014
Pros: Staff helpful providing directions etc. Lovely hot breakfast plus cheeses, fresh fruit. Free coffee, bottled water, cookies available all day.
Cons: Sink faucets not ideal, 2 separate twist type, placed so washing hands was awkward, hard to not touch sides of basin. No facial tissues, ironing board
Location: Great location walking distance to Edinburgh castle, Royal mile, bus, restaurants.
Located on a quiet street, the interior common areas (lobby, dining room etc) have beautifully preserved original woodwork with ornate carving, marble fireplaces and stairway. There is a wonderful library lounge with comfortable seating and an adjoining refreshment/study area. The bedroom was modern and simply decorated. Our king bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was bright, quite large, 2 types of shower head, deep tub. Small elevator available.
