Weekend Break

Posted 18-Nov-2014
Pros: Location and interior
Cons: Maybe the bedrooms have a few pictures on the walls + a safe and only small things like hooks on doors.
Location: Near Haymarket so ideal for shopping, the Castle and Murrayfield.
The B and B is in a great spot, close to the main Haymarket station and within walking distance of the City Centre shops and attractions. It is a lovely house with not too many rooms so no overcrowding at breakfast. There is a lovely first floor library with free tea, coffee, water and biscuits at all hours. The bed was comfortable in ours room.Breakfast is continental and full Scottish, freshly cooked to order. The staff are really welcoming and helpful.Highly recommended!

Pros: Lovely original features in library, entrance hall and dining room.
Hotel situated a short walk from Princes Street. Quiet location and room had a lovely view of Edinburgh Castle. Very clean throughout. Staff very helpful and booked our taxi back to airport for us. Would stay there again if visiting Edinburgh.

Nice B&B with friendly staff

Posted 03-Nov-2014
We arrived before check-in time and the duty manager tried hard to accomodate us. The elevator is tiny but it is better than no elevator. We liked the tea & shortbread cookie next to the library. They have many different kinds of tea (all self-served). Breakfast is great - you order the items from the menu. On our check out date, we had to leave before normal breakfast time, but the staff was really helpful and able to serve us some continental breakfast - yogurt, cereal, toast, coffee/tea. Another amazing thing is, all local phone call is free. I had to call up flybe to fix my ticket as I was not able to do it online, and I was put on hold for almost an hour. So, it is really handy. Room is small but adequate. Bathroom is spacious though. Walkable distance to the castle and Royal Mile. Taxi ride to and from the airport is around 16-18GBP each way. Will definitely stay there again.

Nice B&B in Edinburgh

Posted 03-Nov-2014
Staff was very accommodating and pleasant. Room was small but very nice. Bathroom was excellent: shower, tub, sink all first rate. Towel warmer. The common rooms are very elegant: dining room, lounge/bar, and library. Oak paneled, high ceilings, 19th century. Great location near Haymarket rail station, Georges and Princes Street area withing walking distance.

Great hotel close to the city centre

Great hotel from the moment we got there. Requested a surprise for my partner and kept to their word and had it ready. Staff were very pleasant. The breakfast was amazing, with a large variety to pick from.

A good experience

Posted 27-Oct-2014
Pros: The staff very friendly, the carved wood and every detail. The option to have tea and coffee in the room.
Cons: Just give the information in advance that you can have the vegan breakfast :)
Location: The location is also very good. In a few blocks from the main city. Also close (like 5 blocks) from the bus sation that comming from the airport.
We are very happy with this hotel, the staff are very friendly. The hotel is beautiful. The breakfast delicious!, they even have vegan food if you tell when you do the check in :)

Thia place knocked our socks off. The room was lovely the breakfast was excellent and Edinburgh is a fantastic city. We especially loved the cosy libray which housed coffees and teas with shortbreads galore! An amazing couples get away we left feeling totally refreshed. Staff were brilliant too!

The location is in a quite nice area. The room and hotel is awesome and beautiful. The stuff are polite and warm. There's only one thing which is the temperature of showering water is really unstable and hard to control it. Either its too hot or cold.

Great location, close to the city but quiet street

Posted 14-Oct-2014
Overall a very enjoyable stay. Breakfast was fantastic and staff very welcoming. Room was a great size (Family Room), although could have benefited from a new coat of paint. Fantastic location as very close to the city, but in a nice and quiet location.
