Fabulous!

We were first time visitors to Edinburgh and wow a real find! Staff were friendly and informative. Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast selection was good and lovely fresh produce. Room was great - even had a view of the castle! Location was perfect - quiet yet close to all amenities. Would totally recommend this hotel to anyone :)

Dejligt hotel, et besøg værd

Posted 12-Jul-2015

Rooms with fantastic views. Not far from castle.

Posted 07-Jul-2015
Pros: Location, view, friendliness of staff.
Cons: Breakfast: more bacon, better coffee (twice, we had lots of coffe grounds in the cups)
Location: A short walk from castle, and royal mile. Too much to list everything in Edinburgh ...
Though we arrived late, we had a warm welcome from the receptionist. The room was spacious (we had a family room) an we had a great view from the 4th floor. The lift is very small, so with big luggage, or in our case two Border Collies, it gets camped. Breakfast was good but not above average.

B + B Edinburgh

Posted 06-Jul-2015
Pros: I liked the architecture of the building, the rooms, and the library where one could sit and relax.
Cons: The addition of USB ports in the rooms would be helpful, and windows that open a bit more.
The hotel was great for my family. We stayed there 5 nights in early June. The hotel is located in a lovely Edwardian house, in a quiet area, about 3/4 mile from Princes Street. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. The full English breakfast is very good. The only negative is the plumbing- the water temperature was hard to control. I would stay here again.

The room was badly laid out.

Furniture to large in room, no place for cases. Lift very small to get to room only 2 person lift. staff helpful & friendly. Good for a business person but not family.

Amazing B&B

We loved it here and were very sad to have such a short stay there. Wished it was longer. Very clean, very comfy and amazing views. The hotel staff was fantastic. The woman at the front desk was so nice and helpful. Would love to go back again!

Preservation of old Edinburgh

Posted 17-Jun-2015
Pros: The ambiance.
Cons: Nothing really except for the location of the lift buttons !
Location: As already stated, the location is fine, you can walk to all the interesting sights, or a short Taxi ride .
The interior of the building reflected the grace and style of old Edinburgh. The room was very spacious and clean, the Breakfast menue was excellent and the staff most helpful. The hotel is only a 10 mins. walk to the West end of Princes Street. The location is also free of traffic noise.

Hotel with a bit of character

Posted 14-Jun-2015
Pros: Modern but still retaining character. Handy for our planned visit.
Cons: Some minor flaws/irritations
Location: Just off the West End of Princes Street so easy access to all central Edinburgh attractions. Gallery of Modern Art about 10 min walk round the corner
Good value place to stay. Convenient for where we were going. Only stayed one night. Arrived relatively late (to a friendly welcome), went out, left the next morning, so a limit to what we can say! Room and en suite clean with crisp white bed linen. Amazing view from our (4th floor) room across Edinburgh to the Firth of Forth. Good exercise walking up many stairs - or use the smallest lift I have seen! Beautiful library to sit in and have coffee. We enjoyed breakfast. We did not have a chance to visit the bar.
