“a nice stay”
The location was convenient but don't expect to walk anywhere without walking up and down hills. The use of the pool at the Apex hotel up the street was very nice.
“Very impressed”
Central location, excellent restaurants nearby. slight catch is that there are two Apex Hotels side by side, Apex City and Apex International. Only negative was charge to use Hotel Car Park.
“Great City Centre Hotel”
Great hotel, Friendly and helpful service. Great food.
“Excellent Hotel”
Modern well-maintained clean decor, comfortable rooms,a very good breakfast and very helpful and friendly staff. The hotel is centrally situated in the Grassmarket of the Old Town but with very good access to all parts of the city.Highly recommended.
“Apex City Hotel Stay”
Booked this hotel last minute and availability was scarce due to Fring festival being on. Initially went to the sister hotel next door Apex International and was told we were in the Apex City which worried me a bit but it was literally a 20 second walk out of the door. We were quickly checked in and amazingly the receptionist who checked us in took us up to our room and showed us round which was a nice touch. The room we had was on the back of the hotel but thats a good thing as on the front I recon it could be noisy as the hotel is bank in the middle of Grass Market which has a lot of bars init The room was excellent clean good bathroom and internet was free and fast. Breakfast is extra but service was fast and quick (apart from the Sunday when we had a 10 minute wait) and the full Scottish was great. The hotel is PERFECTLY located for the Castle, The Royal Mile in fact everything is on your doorstep Would definatly use again.
“Very good location”
Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Ideal location for city centre. Staff all very helpful. Rooms were adequately furnished for our stay. Hotel area very pretty and stunning view of the castle.
“would recommend to others”
Hotel room was very comfortable and clean. Bed was comfortable and queen size. Staff was very helpful. Meals were a bit pricey. Room rate was good compared to others in the city.
“Edinburgh Bliss.”
This hotel is most certainly in the quieter part of Edinburgh (which I appreciated!) as I was running in the 2006 Edinburgh Marathon. I was very impressed with the welcoming hotel staff who all offered friendly advise and pinpointed that The Elephant House was a coffee house not to be missed! Some of the hotel staff even cheered me on as I ran past during my marathon, I was more than pleased to see that happen! I adored this hotel, it's like a home from home. I would certainly return to this hotel in the near future!
“Good place, I'd recommend it to Edinburgh travelers”
We were quite happy with the Apex City Hotel, the only problem with it was parking - we had a rent-a-car, and found that parking is a problem in general with downtown Edinburgh hotels. The Apex City has only a few spots available in its checkin/parking courtyard by the front desk, so if that's full then you've got to search around, and spots are scarce during the day. Best thing to do is offload your luggage and then put your car in the nearest car park, but beware of the one way streets of Edinburgh, they can send you all kinds of places you don't want to go :) The Apex City is in the Grassmarket area of town, a historic old marketplace now lined with restaurants at the base of Edinburgh Castle. It's a good place to be based for your stay. This hotel would be our first pick when we go back.
“Would definitely recommend”
Fantastic service, got a free upgrade, perfect location, best hotel breakfast I've ever had.
