Good location but pricey

The hotel is 5 min from the Brighton Pier. The room was fine and staff helpful. There was even a gym. But if I had to do it over again, I'd make Brighton a day trip from London and save on the hotel cost.

Good location but disappointing room

The room was confortable but, as it is a 4 star hotel, I was expecting a bathroom with a door that actually closed without risking to be locked inside. Good location right of the pier and with view of the sea.

All good but read our review

Quite happy with the hotel but I have to say the Air Conditioning was noisy, we stayed in May and it was very hot out, the room needed cooling and that was fine, just cooled the room on 'low' until 10pm, the problem was you could hear the Air Con from the room next door and they kept it on all night! The condition was fine, yes the odd mark on the bathroom ceiling but quite good really. Location spot on right by the pier on the sea front. The car park under the Hotel belongs to the Council and the lift dosn't work, it's a bit grubby and cost 15 pounds per 24 hours which we didn't know till we got there. The Pool looked nice but we didn't find time to use it. So all in all, if you don't mind the Air Con it's good.

One of the best chain hotels in Brighton with parking and leisure facilities

Great location close to the famous lanes and the the upmarket shops and the new Jubilee Square where it is all happening. Close to the Palace pier and wonderful views of the seafront. Excellent for families and for couples.

Pretty standard, not that impressed

We stayed here because we got a good deal on Expedia. I wouldn't want to stay here again if I'm paying. Our room was clean and spacious, but overlooked the inner atrium, no view to the outside world from there. Also the room was incredibly hot. I had to call maintenance to open the window (which they promptly did), but I couldn't get the temperature down at all. I even had the air con at 5 degrees, yet had to sleep on top of the sheets! Our loo wouldn't stop flushing at one point, and again maintenance were prompt in the repair. Thankfully, the breakfast was included, because I would not pay their rate for a cooked breakfast. It was very average and definitely not worth what they were charging. That said, the Continental breakfast was of a decent standard and variety, and there was lots of fruits and cereals to choose from. It was a clean hotel, the staff were efficient and friendly, the room was bearable, the food was average.

Needs a major refurb. Scruffy & a blot on the landscape.

Watch out for special offers-avoid special offers

Posted 23-Apr-2008
The room on floor 4 was impossibly hot and even with the A/C full on was overheated after a visit from a most amiable maintenance man the A/C still couldn't manage! My guess is all special offers get the 4th. floor.

A little disappointed

Booked 2 nights leisure break. Great location and room price was reasonable - however, breakfast was an extra just short of 15 pounds per head per day and the hotel's own car park charged 15 pounds per night. Worked out expensive. Nice atrium and room but designed for the businessman.
