“Wonderful hotel, very friendly staff, great location”
I really did enjoy my stay at The Grand, the staff were very friendly indeed. There is plenty free parking, the location is wonderful on the seafront and the rooms have everything you need. The gym looked good although being on the seafront I chose to run along the full distance of the promenade from the hotel which is approx 10k there and back. This was a good value hotel.
“Always a pleasure to stay in this hotel”
Plenty parking, friendly and efficient staff, great location. Does Gluten free food and there is a good 10k run along the seafront and back.
“Excellent service and quality.”
A five star hotel which lived up to expectations. The style of the hotel was as grand as the name, but nothing was overbearing. High Tea was a delight and the restaurant exceptional. The room was comfortable, well equiped and cleaned and serviced well, but the bed was slightly saggy. It was pricy, but value for money. I would happily visit again.
“Excellent Eastbourne”
Fantastic 5 star charming hotel. Could not do enough for my family (aged 8 and 3) who were extremely well looked after. Inc. arrival pack, high tea, play room and quiz. Milk and cookies at bedtime. Madeleine was superb. I do think that adults should really have that kind of thing too! GO!
“Old style 5* hospitality”
A perfect base for a lovely seaside holiday. Great indoor and outdoor pools.
“Very impressed”
Excellent price/quality ratio. We have a young toddler so decided to have dinner and breakfast in our bedroom. The food was very good and not that expensive for a 5 stars hotel. Very professional and friendly service from all staff. However do bring trousers/dresses (not jeans) if you want to go about in the building, as everyone is dressed very smart. The pool/sauna/steam room all inclusive are also highly recommended. Guaranteed "whouah" factor at first sight, beautiful/old building architecture.
“Fabulous hotel”
Like stepping back in time. Fantastic service
“Very pleased with our stay and I think The Grand would be Eastbourne's nicest hotel.”
We would definately stay there again! I read through many reviews and did quite a bit of research before deciding to stay at The Grand Hotel and I am so pleased that we decided to stay there. It may have cost more than other hotels and bed/breakfast places, but in our opinion it was worth it. We arrived early so that we could make use of the leisure facilities. Going at Christmas was especially magical, seeing the beautiful Christmas tree setting the grand lobby alight! The staff were courteous and helpful and although we did not eat and drink in the hotel, as we had a party to go to, we found the buffet breakfast plentiful and varied. It lives up to its name as being "Grand" - one of those few hotels where you are greeted by a doorman in top hat and tails as you arrive. Our room was of average size, but big enough for the two of us, and the furniture was in keeping with the style of the hotel. As we drove along the seafront looking for the Grand Hotel as we arrived, it was the one which 'stood out' from the others and we were immediatley pleased with our decision.
“Great choice for a weekend break.”
A really lovely luxurious hotel, the staff were incredibly polite and warm, the surroundings were old fashionedly grand like a stately home with immense halls and roaring fires. Nice room - sheets turned down for us at bedtime which put the Primark PJs to shame. The /Grand also provided the best breakfast I have ever had with a range of cold buffet foods including lovely fresh and preserved fruits and a lovely hot buffet with the ususal traditional Engilsh breakfast fayre. The high quality of cooking and ingredients was complimented by lovely presentation. I don't think I can go back to tinned grapefruit segments again!
“Good but expensive”
generally good. poor service at breakfast.
