Grand indeed

Posted 24-Feb-2015
We stayed in a standard inland room for a night. The view was pretty bad but this wqs expected. With the net curtain you didn't notice. The room was a great size, very comfy huge bed (even my husband who has a broken collar bone slept for the first time in weeks!). The service was impeccable from all staff. The half marathon was on on the Sunday so the concierge warned us to allow more time to get home etc. The breakfast had a great range and the pastries were to die for! Overall I thought excellent value for such a well located hotel with beautiful decor. We'll be back!

Fabulous hotel. Can't wait to go back.

Posted 21-Feb-2015
Pros: Very grand staircase and very polite staff
Cons: Bring back the pool
Location: Loved choccywoccydoodah in The Lanes and North Laine was amazing for different shops etc. A visit to the pavillion a must.
Stayed with my 9 year old son for 3 nights. Had a wonderful stay. When I go back I will certainly try for a sea view room. We overlooked a brick wall at the back this time. Breakfast was amazing. The only let down was that there was no pool, just a spa. The stay couldn't have been more helpful. Overall very impressed

Excellent service, lovely rooms, breakfast was very busy if you left it too late but otherwise a relaxing weekend in a wonderful location. Next time we need to book a sea view room.

Indulgent, relaxing hotel near Brighton pier

Posted 08-Feb-2015
Pros: Original sweeping staircase is truly elegant. Cool cocktails served by attentive staff. Leisurely excellent buffet breakfast.
Cons: Be aware that the spa is charged at £35 each so we didn't use it!! No mini-bar in classic room (but there were free bottles of water)
Location: 20 min walk to station. 5 min walk along the beach to pier. Walk to the lanes for browsing and Pavilion. Check-out @11 but concierge will keep bags.
Great hotel for a relaxing overnight stay in beautiful surroundings. Our classic double room (2nd floor, no view), booked at an excellent price, was comfortable, clean and quiet. Hotel staff were welcoming and attentive. We have stayed here once before. It is our first choice for staying in Brighton if we get a good price.

Good location near the beach

Posted 05-Feb-2015
Pros: The location near the lanes, the Royal Pavilion and the Brighton Museum
Cons: The level of noise in the bedroom
Location: The hotel is near the centre of Brighton and close to all tourist attractions
The classic room was on the small size andwas rather noisy. We could hear a constant noise coming from the window ( ventilation?). The room had tea making facilities, flat screen TV, hairdryer and free newspaper delivered in the morning. Excellent breakfast.
