Top Notch

Posted 03-May-2015
Pros: The scrambled eggs at breakfast were superb.
Cons: Squeaky floorboards, or suchlike, in the corridor outside room 334 need to be sorted.
The afternoon tea was lovely, the room was perfect. I love the charm of this hotel.

Fantastic Service.

Posted 28-Apr-2015
Pros: I refer you to the previous comments
Cons: I found the colour scheme in the bedroom just a little drab and would have liked it to be just a little brighter and more vibrant.
Location: Street markets in the old town
From the time of mentioning to the hotel receptionist that it was my partners 50th birthday in a few days time, the outstanding service was truly fantastic and this included, a complimentary bottle of white wine being sent up to the bedroom. Some of the restaurant staff singing happy birthday at the table after dinner to my partner. The singing pianist in the hotel lobby. and the wonderfully helpful and cheerful attitude in general from all those staff we came into contact with. It was a great first experience of the Grand Hotel and definitely one I would very much like to repeat. My only regret is that given the fact that i am unemployed, i could not afford to reserve one of the bigger rooms with sea views

Love this hotel

Posted 25-Apr-2015
Have stayed here many times and we love it. Was attending a friends wedding here and stayed for 2 nights. Unfortunately the room we were allocated , though close to the bride which was very convenient as I was a bridesmaid , must have been the smallest room in the hotel. It was very dark and dingy although spotlessly clean. I did not ask to be moved as like I said it was very convenient for the wedding day preparations which was just aswel as it would have been a squeeze for my hubby and myself to get ready at the same time. The room was 334 . This will not put me off returning but I shall request a larger room next time.

I spent two nights in Brighton for a short break with the second night in the Grand. I chose the grand due to its reputation and was not disappounted. Nice hotel and fab staff. Very convenient for Brightion nightlife. Would definitely return.

Not So Grand

Posted 20-Apr-2015
Pros: The building is architecturally interesting.
Cons: Not to charge for an omelette as art of breakfast. Allow use of spa facilities. Get a POOL..... The inward facing room are awful in that the view
Location: The pier is great, the Laines and the beach. Shopping is otherwise like any town in the UK.
The Grand is an impressive building. Such a shame that they could not handle a simple request for support for my wife and daughter who both require a gluten free diet. there was simply no comprehension of the condition. The staff were largely easter European and could not understand our requests. Our experience at Premiere Inns has been far better. The waitress was admittedly upset that she had given us wrong information. The duty manager was as accommodating as she could be. However, it was a ruined stay and we will certainly never recommend the hotel to anyone.

Noisy room

Posted 16-Apr-2015
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Fans or air conditioning in rooms
Nice that they have refurbished the place but shame there is no air conditioning which meant opening the window and listening to the fans on the roof of the next door building all night!! Would hate to stay there in the height of summer.

A Hotel that lives up to its Name

From the moment we arrived to the time that we left, we experienced nothing but good service. The room was well presented and meet all our needs. Couldn't find a single fault....

Good hotel if a little pricey.

Posted 13-Apr-2015
Pros: Staff
Cons: Room was a bit tired
Location: Great location bang on the seafront. Short walk to the 'Lanes' and lots of good restaurants nearby.
Stayed the night before Marathon and parking was very difficult. Staff at the Grand are excellent and extremely helpful. We had a se view room which was lovely except for the carpets which were not great. (marked and with some gaps between each piece) My wife was not happy with the state of the ladies loos on the ground floor. Would stay again.

Fantastic Staff

Posted 08-Apr-2015
Pros: The friendly staff
We only stayed one night but would have loved to have stayed longer. The staff were absolutely amazing they were very charming, always had a smile on their face and nothing was to much trouble. The room was very comfortable and had everything that you would expect, the bed was very comfy and we both slept well. Breakfast was very good and you had a choice of full English, continental, or both, it was a buffet style breakfast and there was plenty of it. we would definitely stay here again and hopefully a bit longer.
