Where else to stay in Brighton

Posted 26-May-2015
Pros: Facilities and location are excellent.
Cons: Car parking is over priced, £26 for one night stay is far too much and I think you should get a discount for staying at the hotel.
Location: Great seafront location not far from the pier and other amenities.
From check in to check out the whole experience at the Grand was as usual nothing less than expected.

Great hotel to stay and in the perfect area

Posted 19-May-2015
Had a lovely stay, food, drinks and staff were amazing :-) We had one night of no HOT water and had to complain but we had a letter to the room to explain with full apologies ( to discuss with the Hotel ! ) Over all a great hotel and very well looked after

Poor value for money

Public areas very smart; room ok but noisy from air-con. No mini-bar, only instant coffee

Hotel has seen better times!

Posted 11-May-2015
Pros: Bedrooms are good and well laid out
Cons: Service, Reception, Eating Areas, Maintenance.
Location: Brigton is a really good place with charming street and artisan culture. Really fab place.
Great location. The Grand Hotel has seen better times. A little rundown and does not exude any exclusivity. Service is matter of fact but not engaging - looks like the Hotel is also full with mass bookings and tour operators! On arrival, Valet parking was poor, reception area full of people waiting, not really pleasant. Had coffee in main foyer with a great view but needed to wear coats as heating was off! Rooms are nice and comfortable and have been upgraded recently. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was good with a wide choice. This is a four star hotel moving towards 3 star - what a pity - Should be a top class Hotel.

Top Notch

Posted 03-May-2015
Pros: The scrambled eggs at breakfast were superb.
Cons: Squeaky floorboards, or suchlike, in the corridor outside room 334 need to be sorted.
The afternoon tea was lovely, the room was perfect. I love the charm of this hotel.

Fantastic Service.

Pros: I refer you to the previous comments
Cons: I found the colour scheme in the bedroom just a little drab and would have liked it to be just a little brighter and more vibrant.
Location: Street markets in the old town
From the time of mentioning to the hotel receptionist that it was my partners 50th birthday in a few days time, the outstanding service was truly fantastic and this included, a complimentary bottle of white wine being sent up to the bedroom. Some of the restaurant staff singing happy birthday at the table after dinner to my partner. The singing pianist in the hotel lobby. and the wonderfully helpful and cheerful attitude in general from all those staff we came into contact with. It was a great first experience of the Grand Hotel and definitely one I would very much like to repeat. My only regret is that given the fact that i am unemployed, i could not afford to reserve one of the bigger rooms with sea views
