I booked a short break away for my husband and I and chose this hotel as it was near the sea.
When we arrived we were shown to our room and we were pleasantly surprised to find not only a fantastic view over the sea front but a balcony to sit on to admire the view.
The room was clean and comfortable and the added facilities were a bonus - mini fridge, hair drier, tea/coffee/hot chocolate and a folder including recommended restaurants and bars local to the hotel; some with 10% off if you showed your Alexander's card.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Looking forward to staying there again.

I got to the hotel at. 11.00 and the room was already prepared to deal with this I was very happy, because I could leave our luggage and go to the beach. The service is very friendly and obliging. Three sets of breakfast to choose from.Close to Hastings because only less than an godinka walk along the promenade by the sea. I recommend to all.

There was a very noisy water system in the eaves of the room which woke us up at 6.30am when the host had to get up. This was a rare night away from small children, so we were desperately needing and looking forward to a long overdue lie in to recharge our batteries. This, to us, was one of the main benefits of the night away, so it was hugely disappointing not to be able to have a couple of extra hours sleep. This had a big impact on our whole weekend and it was further disappointing when there seemed to be a lack of understanding when the issue was regrettably raised. He did apologise but it was followed with the fact that it was the cheapest of the 3 rooms they had, the water system had to go somewhere and that was the time he had to get up. It was also pointed out that he hadn't had other complaints. Unless other guests were very heavy sleepers I find it hard to believe they wouldn't have been woken up. Maybe they could get back to sleep quicker, so it bothered them less, but it takes me a long time to get back to sleep and each time before I could, it would go off again. I don't think the price of the room should mean that we should expect to be woken up early, so don't feel that is a justification. If we were expecting to be woken up that early we wouldn't have booked at all. Such a shame, as the rest of the place was to a very high standard and a thoroughly lovely, peaceful, relaxing setting. It was lovely to be in the countryside with the cat, dogs and chickens.

We had a great time, the hotel had a quirky atmosphere with a medieval theme. The owners were extremely freindly and nothing was too much trouble. Lots of little extras that showed that a great deal of thought has gone into making the guests as comfortable as possible. The breakfast was the best we have had in any hotel anywhere in the world. The only downside was the location, it is set within a residential street quite away from the main town so a car would be essential. Most parking however is on street so finding a suitable parking space was difficult especially when returning late at night.
