“Lovely friendly place”

We found the Royal Albion only a stones throw from the pebbly beach, pier, Aquarium and Pavilion with the Lanes a short walk from the main door. It was very pleasant and comfortable with friendly staff. Although our room looked a little "tired" the hotel was in the middle of an interior/exterior redecoration period, so we understood the trouble they were going to. The workmen never inconvenienced us during our stay. We had a lovely sea and pier view on the fourth floor, our first ever, and enjoyed the food provided for our breakfast and had a tasty evening meal there as well. All-in-all a most enjoyable first-time visit to Brighton.

“Cheap and cheerful”

The hotel is very good value for money and well located near the pier. It was ideal for us as a group of lads on a stag do and the breakfast was spot on. As with most of Brighton it could do with a lick of paint and a bit of attention, but the rooms are clean and comfortable enough.

“Nice suprise!”

I had been concerned as the reviews I read after booking were poor. However I was pleased with the hotel. Yes its a little rough round some of the edges it wasn't as bad as I thought. It could do with decorating in places that didn't affect our comfort. Some of the nooks and cranies were dusty and a little shaby but it was bearable.

“What a wonderful place!”

The hotel presents itself in a warm and welcoming manner. Very friendly staff and the executive room is wonderful. The jacuzzi tub is very large and accommodates 2 people easily. The free buffet breakfast is nice but the buffet dinner is rather limited for the price. You get a choice of soup or salad, one main and dessert so I do not really consider it a true buffet as you still go up to the buffet to get the food, but you can't try different dishes. But as a whole, our stay was fantastic all because of the Royal Albion!

“Good break”

I read bad reviews before going, but i decided to make my own mind. I was plesantly suprised, everything was top notch. EXCEPT parking, i had to leave car in a car park for three days for 50 pounds. Can't complain, though the view was wonderful from the room

“Great price, great location”

Location couldn't be better for Brighton. Water pressure could have been a bit better. Breakfast was great. Staff friendly and professional. Bed comfortable. Couldn't really ask for me, and all at a great price. Will def return.

“Amust for all Staycations!”

After reading reviews of the Royal Albion i was rather sceptical. All the negativity made me want to instantly get a refund! However, the whole of my "staycation " was wonderful. The building itself is so reagal and beautiful, location is fantastic (Oposite the pier) and the service was very high. My fiance and I were very fortunate as we stayed in one of the newly renevated rooms. Unfortuynatly the smell of fresh paint near suffocated me at first. I dont eat bacon (or chips) for breakfast so all there really was to eat first thing was egg, beans, plum toms and toast/ croissants! Not too bad really but i do think mushrooms should have also been on the buffet cart. The lounge area is very spacious and the bar area of the hotel has modern feel. What else??? the windows should have been washed as seagul plop really puts a downer of the beautiful seaviews from my room. Outside noise is noticable at first but soon fades once you get used to it but you do have to remember your on the main road in in a hot tourist destination. More pastries on offer at breakfast would have been greatly appreciated but the overall hotel gives that 'olde time' feel. We would deffo go back again. 8/10

“A satisfied customer (who had low expectations!)”

My daughter and I chose the Royal Albion for our one night stay because of the reasonable price. We were expecting the worst after reading the other reviews but were astonished at the imposing appearance and old-fashioned decor of the hotel (we're not into "modern" (bland) hotels). Reception staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable, bathroom was lovely, shower worked! Breakfast was completely self-service but plates were cleared promptly. I agree that some of the waiting staff had difficulty with English but I'd rather have that than a lack of staff, and they were all very pleasant.
