Like stepping back in time.

Pros: High ceilings huge reception area lots of places to sit . The conservatory is particularly pleasant with sea views.daily maid service
Cons: more comfortable beds, more helpful staff, fix the humming noise in the bedroom.Warn someone if there is going to be noisy parties at night.
If I had known there were going to be a number Christmas parties both on Friday and saturday nights for non guests I would not have stayed here. The screeching and swearing of 20 something year old girls going off to the powder room every few seconds was intolerable. Not aware of any attempt to keep them quiet. Good selection of breakfast although I wasnt asked what type of egg I wanted-fried scrambled etc.Bacon like rubber.Burnt toast. I asked for scrambled egg next day and that was delicious. Room serviced every morning-fresh towels etc. The shaving/mirror light was humming all night -sounded like bathroom fan was left on.No way to switch it off. Order a newspaper as I wasnt asked if I wanted one. Got upgraded to sea view which was very pleasant indeed to wake up to. Nice room-warm-couldnt hear next rooms at all.Unfortunately as I suffer with a back problem I didnt sleep too well-I found the bed lumpy, whilst I guess you could say it was soft I could feel the metal springs.I would guess anyone without a back problem may not notice. Prices for food/drinks reasonable. The staff courteous but as their English (foreigners) is not exactly brilliant not that easy to talk with.

Hydro hotel

Posted 19-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
Everything was fantastic especially the great breakfast and the staff in restaurant. Only thing I could find fault in was car parking. We stayed in the Hydro Hotel during the Airborne weekend so we obviously knew it would be busy. However as guests were checking out I heard them asking reception if their car could be left in car park while they went to view Airborne. Reception staff agreed but I must admit I was a bit annoyed as we (as guests checking in) could not get into the car park!.

Really friendly hotel. Generally older clientele while we were there but none the worse for that. Very good breakfast and comfy beds.

Nice relaxing hotel near the sea

Posted 11-Aug-2014
Pros: They view, location, staff, quality
Location: Short walk from the sea front and Eastbourne town centre. Close to Beachy Head. Great base for exploring the Sussex coastline.
This was my second stay at this hotel. Room was really comfortable and within the grounds there is a heated outdoor pool, croquette lawn. Comfortable lounge, plenty of street parking.

wonderful hotel location

Posted 03-Aug-2014
It is a lovely old-style hotel with gracious and comfortable space in the public areas. With its private grounds and lovely view of the whole sea-front, it is the perfect place to stay, being located in maybe the best section of the hotel strip. Add in the Free Parking, and being a reasonable walking distance to the centre of town, it is the ideal place to stay.

Great views and friendly service

This is an old fashioned hotel but very comfortable. I kept expecting to see Miss Marple in the lobby. All the staff were friendly and attentive. The bed was comfortable. The huge conservatory had lovely views over the sea. A big plus was unrestricted parking on the roads around the hotel that meant even if you could not get in the car park there was no problem parking.
