I am glad i did not listen to the overly cruel review of some people.
it was not the cleanest hotel i've been to, nor was it posh, but at the price of less than 50 pounds on a weekend to sleep over for 4 it certainly is an unbeatable value. it would cost almost the same to stay over in a tent by the seaside - that is if you're lucky enough to get some available pitches - and this place definitely beats sleeping in a tent. you get your own kitchenette. everything around was possibly the cheapest you can find - but it's not necessarily a bad thing - cause you get to pay less for the hotel.
FREE parking and the sea is just a stone-throw away.
Special occasion in this place is a definite - NO NO!!!!
but for a cheap weekend getaway or even maybe a week's getaway - i would come back :)
This is what's expected of a five star hotel. Nothing went wrong; nothing caused concern and we just relaxed. The food was excellent, the concierge team had a good sense of humour and the waiting team were attentive. One of the few hotels we would not hesitate to recommend and return to.
Fabulous location even though we are not golfers. We arrived very early having travelled from Gatwick and were greeted by a most helpful receptionist who, while unable to give us a room so early in the morning, organised a pot of fresh coffee while we relaxed in the lounge. The helpfulness and smiles continued throughout our stay and I would highly recommend this hotel for any who wish to have a quiet, relaxing break.

I knew the hotel from 20 years ago. It was still wonderful. The staff were fantastic. A Scottish lady served us at the bar, she was attentive, welcoming, funny and just what we needed. The room was gorgeous, the sloping floors, the fires, the wooden panelling all stunning. Just marvelous!

"The Cooden Beach Hotel, a welcome haven to stay."
Receptionist provided the start of a Happy stay. All the staff welcomed you throughout the stay. Although my stay was only for one night, the welcome and friendly atmosphere from both staff and customers alike provided a happy occasion. If in the Bexhill area, I would recommend anyone to stay at The Cooden Beach Hotel.

We only stayed for one night at this beautiful hotel (such a shame would of loved to have stayed longer) as we were invited to the Hunt Ball at the Montague Suite just around the corner from the hotel. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful, the décor beautiful, nice to have an open fire in the reception...... couldn't really fault anything at all. Thank you and we will be back next year.

This was a last minute booking online for last few days of our holiday in the South of England. It was easy to find, easy to park and the room was beautifully comfortable and clean. Breakfast was nicely done - especially the poached eggs. Highly recommended.
Apart from our bathroom which was in need of attention to bring it up to the rest of the hotel we have no comments. The hotel thanked us for bringing this up and confirmed that our bathroom was already on the list for refurbishment in the very near future. We're looking forward to goimg back to see what they do.
